Do any of the major rental companies rent the Lighting? I've looked at Turo, but there are none near me.

Not that I have found …I ended up purchasing after a good test drive anyway .. I drive a ton of different vehicles when traveling for work and usually run into some odd ones here and there but never a lightning .. plenty of teslas and polestars .

I would not want to rent out a Lightning I owned, especially with the old saying...drive it like a rental. :)
-Lightnings can take too long to charge back to 100% which rental companies are not used to. In some cases many hours or overnight compared to 5-10 min filling with fuel, or typically 0 time since many renters return ICE vehicles full to save on the per gallon price charged.
-Renters would not want to recharge them and would need to if they are driving over 250 miles.
-Rental companies would likely get a lot more questions with Lightnings than an ICE.
-They are too costly to repair. You break a tail light and it's over $2000.
-They have been too expensive to put on the rental lot. Even the insurance for them is high. Unless you as a rental company are used to renting out high dollar sports cars.
-If they are in a cooler/northern part of the country and they are renting to pull a 3000+lb trailer over 100mi, the renter would not be happy.

I’m driving an XLT SR Lightning rental from Avis this week. They must have just got it in the fleet on June 6th. It had 70 miles on the odometer when I picked it up in MSP on Monday.

The goofballs from Avis hadn’t charged it so it only had 53% charge with 106 miles of range. I knew that would be enough range for me this week.
