Hey folks-as the title implies, I’m looking at a ‘23 Lightning. I love my KR powerboost and honestly don’t want to get rid of it but I’ve taken a new job that includes an almost daily 120 mile round trip, and the gas cost is becoming unbearable. The Lightning seems to make the most sense for what I need as I still need a truck to do weekend projects and tow a small center console boat for short distances. We’ll use my wife’s Yukon for longer trips.
Based on what I’m reading getting a ‘23 Lariat holdover is the way to go. I really like the Platinum but a $15-$20k price difference (esp since you can’t get the tax credit) more speakers and massaging seats you can’t even get right now doesn’t seem to be remotely close to worth it (correct me if I’m wrong on those being the only major differences between lariat and platinum). 0%/72 mos being offered through Labor Day is an excellent incentive, but I can’t make heads or tails of the other rebates other than the tax credit (which appears as if you can get only if MSRP before destination is <$80k). I’m seeing a lot of 511A package trucks around my area (SE GA) going for just under $80k MSRP but of course every dealer lists the price differently and doesn’t always specify what incentives/tax credit are included in the price.
My questions are, for those of you who have been buying lately, what are the actual rebates you can get for what I’m looking for (‘23 Lariat 511A) beyond the tax credit? And beyond that, after all rebates, how much lower off MSRP is common?
Am I totally out of touch with reality to try and get one for <$60k (before sales tax) with all incentives/rebates/tax credit? My thought is to just call around the week before Labor Day and see what kind of deals I can find, but perhaps plant the seed in a salesman’s mind right now.
Thanks!
