I guess VW is trying to rebrand themselves in the U.S. Many of us have not forgotten or forgiven VW for their Dieselgate deception.

When I was a kid my stepfather use to buy Scouts and I really liked them. I have often thought that the EV market needed a smaller capable 4x4 and the Scout really seems to fit the bill. I’m not interested enough to replace my Lightning but I think this Scout EV could be a really big seller if VW doesn’t screw up the delivery.

I really thought the Bronco was going to have an EV variant. I think the Scout is going to force Ford to start offering the Explorer EV in the states sooner rather than later. It doesn’t make any sense to me that Ford isn’t already offering an Expedition Lightning since the F150 and the Expedition share so many parts.

wish we could start getting some sneak peaks at the t3
I’m not very excited about the T3. Ford is going to have to provide ICE variants of all the models for at least another decade and I can’t imagine Ford building a pure EV model any time soon. I would be excited to see Ford providing EV variants of all the models like the F250, F350, etc. and all the model configurations..

I am sure Ford is working on a “platform“ for future EV models. I think that’s probably what the skunk works team is doing?? (in addition to battery technology )It only makes sense because EV’s are the future and Ford is not going to be caught with their pants down again!
Farley has dropped some hints in the interviews. He has done and they are working hard on them in Europe as well.

We had a Scout II when I was a kid and travelled all over Afghanistan in it (1976-1979), until the Russians showed up it was a great place.
I don't think I would ever buy a VW Scout, it just looks like a Rivian without the LUX, plus the wife would shoot me, we already have a Lightning and and "kitted out" FJ.

I read the recent news regarding VW's current economic troubles and wonder:

-is all the news dribbling out on the Scout just to encourage more folks to loan VW $100 for four years without any cost to VW?
