Interesting. I was just on the phone with ford and sunrun. They are working to strengthen the bluetooth connectivity between the FCSP and the trucks that aren’t strong enough to connect when the power goes out. Apparently they have 1 or 2 tries to get it right or else they have to recall all the FCSP’s for those trying to utelize HIS. I wonder if this isn’t.
Can we get this in writing from Ford or Sunrun?!?! It's the first admission of a possible hardware problem with the HIS system. I need more details while I wait for this update.

Although Bluetooth connectivity might be a fundamental problem for some trucks, I think Ford has more serious problems than that. I don't know whether it's the truck or the FCSP that's mainly at fault, but just the inability to reliably set the Max Charge Rate for your truck through FordPass and have it stay at that rate shows there is something very unreliable about the FCSP/truck connection. I have a decent truck/FCSP BT connection. Backup Power Transfer can work reliably even with my right rear passenger seat up and all my windows and doors closed, but 6 out of 11 successful tries in a row in 10/24, I've had to press the UNLOCK button on the charger port, pull the charger head out, wait > 15 secs, and plug it back in again. That shouldn't affect the quality of BT transmission between the truck module and the FCSP, but it does suggest that Ford has trouble getting the truck and the FCSP on the same page to allow backup power transfer to initiate between the two. If Ford can't get the Max Charge Rate to work reliably for all FCSP owners, not just the ones that sprang for the Home Integration System, perhaps a recall and replacement of ALL FCSPs is merited. The best thing would be if they could swap out the circuit board without physically removing and replacing the box on the wall.

Although Ford contracted with Sunrun to be the official installer of the Home Integration System, Ford deserves all the responsibility for any shortcomings in its design and that of the truck and FCSP.

Definitely agree with you that there has to be more to it. I have gotten mine to work intermittently, then @Ford Motor Company comes out with a FCSP update that completely wipes the pairing out and then it doesn’t work anymore. So I again have to sit on the phone with Ford and with Sunrun to try and get someone to run through the issues with me again.

Trust me I’m on the phone with them, and they all assure me they’re the “ones who will fix the problem” and I can rest assured I have the right people now.

I won’t hold my breath. currently the truck sends power to the FCSP, the FCSP blinks green but there’s no power at the house.

If it makes you feel better mine does the same thing. Acts like it's transferred but no power is flowing. Feel free to DM me any details and I'll harass the same people you are in hopes of a fix.

See my other threads for details on the failure state.
