I see that in all kinds of things. People cheep out on the silliest things.

I was offered a free nacs to CCS adapter to review on my youtube channel from an unknown company. While I love free stuff I could not in good faith accept it. I did not want to open the potential can of worms that would come with it.

Also the big 3 adapters are not that expensive in the grand scheme of things. Go back and look at the Chademo to CCS/Tesla adapters if you want to see how a real expensive adapter looks.

I would think the wires would immediately melt on the version in the right picture. I see some positive feedback after actual use on some of these economy adapters being sold on Amazon.

Look into the reputation of the manufacturer / seller first.
Make sure that there is someone you can contact if needed for support.
And of course, always buy from the USA.

I purchased my adapter from TeslaTap as they make the highest quality J1772 adapter and now make the new SuperTap. It has worked perfectly every time. They are at https://www.teslatapinc.com

What is the best one/reputable one to buy? I am contemplating leasing a Lightning Flash and the dealer says the adapter on Ford.com is not available.

I will never understand the impulse to cheap out on the charging equipment that's going to be attached to a $50,000+ vehicle.
And attached to a power source that can kill you and burn down your house.
I don't use the low bidder on medical services either.

Thanks, saw your earlier post.

I guess I was wondering if there are others to consider. Looks like a good recommendation, thanks.
Not for me... I have purchased others as well but they are ALL made in China. I have been using a TeslaTap for years.

IMHO, the product is far superior to any other ones out there and I am sure that their SuperTap is the same. For a few dollars more, I think it is worth the investment.

Are there any brands that are fully made in the US? Saying final assembly in the US could be only labeling, packing and boxing.
