Someone will buy that from insurance and make a killing selling parts.

Whereā€™s the total here? Air bags look intact, battery way back away from the kerfluffle, new wheel, bumper, trim and ADAS sensors, frunk grille, and maybe a quarter panel and itā€™s an $80,000 truck, including ADM. :)

where are you going to get spare parts? I doubt they have a ton of those sitting around. That's my big fear with a rare new vehicle, some kind of accident that takes it out for a while waiting on parts.

There's a whole lot of regular F-150 bits in that area. I'm not sure the insurance will do a total so fast. I don't see $80k of damage. It's likely going to be largely paid out by somebody's business coverage. It may go either way depending on who legally owned the truck ā€“ dealer, manufacturer, or (unlikely) private owner.

Overall I don't know if it is totaled. 2 things though - seems with an EV it doesn't take near as much damage to total one as it once did, I've heard the stories. The insurance companies seem to find it easier to write them off. A cracked motor housing, a damaged battery, risk of them not being rectified. We'll just have to see what starts to happen with the trucks.

Sadly I'm not sure there are any shared parts with that front end. Even though our bodies come from the same body shop as an ICE - none of the fenders or hoods are the same. The suspension is not the same, there is an electric motor and electric AC (or two) under there, the 12v isn't the same the moldings aren't the same, the grill/bumper, truly none of it the same.

I also suspect potential frame and front suspension damage as well.

I think the difference is that this truck is probably owned by dealer or manufacturer. It's not a typical car wreck situation. There's likely to be a policy limit under/uninsured coverage payout to the dealer for inventory damage. Whether the truck can be sold as 'new' under Georgia law is another factor.

It doesn't look like the 'Gladiator' damage got past the crush can. The picture isn't the best.

Bummer.
On day three of owning my 07 saab 93 I opened the trunk very hard (no dampers compared with the gas struts on my wife's Hyundai sonata) and banged the edge of the trunk lid I to the end of our tandem bike rack. There is a white saab 93 with an extra little flat spot on rear lip of the trunk passenger side about 5 inches from the edge. Day two with my wife's Volvo xc40 EV she curbed the right rear wheel pretty bad. Life happens....
