I know this is mostly common sense, but I figured some may refer to this in the future when their time comes.
My 2023 XLT ER was built in October 2023 and arrived at dealer in November 2023 (based on the inspection sticker when I bought it), and I bought it in May 2024. Now in November 2024 I had two days in a row where I was sitting in the driver's seat and got message on dash "Key Not Detected" even though the fob was right in my pocket. I went through this with my wife's car about a year ago and got one warning with that same message and thought "OK better get a replacement next time I go to Walmart" and the next day turned out to be THE day I had to do so because the fob stopped working. So I learned from experience and when that message appeared on the dash I thought geez just over a year is a short time for the fob battery to last but I guess there are klunkers in every batch of about anything.
The other reason I'm posting here is that the fob battery is not the expected CR2032 that goes in many garage door remotes, in this case it's a CR2450 and below are a couple screenshots from the owners manual (my new battery also on the inset):
So maybe in the future another owner will recall this post and search on "CR2" and will have a handy quick reference.
