In my travels across the US including camping in the Rockies in January (lotsa snow) I found this charging port cover works very well for snow:

Not on the Lightning, but on its little brother my old 2022 Mach E Premium AWD with the extended battery I did break the front motor... twice. The 1st time around 47 K miles the front motor internal seals blew and its cooling oil oozed into where it wasn't supposed to be in, including oozing...
FYI I applied XPEL PPF to the entire truck. Up to You... it's a bit pricy considering the Lightning's size but then it never needs a cover for a looooong time.
I PPFed the whole truck. Making PPF stick on the roof's ridge creases is a PITA.
I also sprayed AMSOIL MP HD into every nook and cranny on the truck's underbody and frame rails before it got too cold. That took 4.5 cans of AMSOIL. Winter salt and slush prep. Anyone doing that should wear a...
^^^ This ^^^. I have learned the same lesson in my past two Ford EVs, although I didn't have the clear head to summarize it so succinctly in a previous post on this thread.
Hey RocketGhost, do you still have the Ford Charger Pro for sale? I have FORScan and a lifelong license, I have turned on my Lightning's and one other Lightning's matrix headlights so I have the how-to knowledge, and will be in Louisville KY soon for a short stay... I might drive down to...
Yeah that Lightning radiator seems to me to be more horizontal than vertical... maybe 40 degrees from horizontal? So stuff that blows in there, stays on top of the radiator like on a shelf, especially with the fan below the radiator sucking it down. Leaves and also twigs and larger sticks in...
We are gasoline - trained over our lifetimes to think of "filling up" as filling a nearly empty bottle (i.e. a tank or battery) with "fluid".
I have found that a more practical way to think of our EV cars is to "harvest juice whenever the car is standing still", if at all possible. Then, even...
Think of charging at home while the truck is parked and Your calculations amd Your choices will greatly expand.
FYI it is also possible or potentially probable that with some creativity You can overnight-charge at the other end as well. Electricity is everywhere and our vehicles tend to be...
Ever since mice chewed up Sonny Boy's Ford Fusion under-hood wiring a few years back, I use this in all my cars, including in the empty space behind the Lightning's frunk:

Fair question - and after owning two Ford EVs I've concluded that between the monthly Microsoft Windows updates and the random and continual cell smart phone updates, technology has trained us users to feel that if we are somehow missing the latest update then we are operating in a vulnerable...
How about a theoretical risk (lower probability, higher impact): Winter is approaching, the horizontally inclined radiator is a warm spot after the truck is parked for the night, and a rodent starts building a nest on that cozy warm somewhat horizontal surface inside the very accessible...
When thinking of installing a 60-amp "continuous load" EV charging circuit breaker, let's remember to also check and (likely) upgrade the circuit wire gauge.
