Ever since mice chewed up Sonny Boy's Ford Fusion under-hood wiring a few years back, I use this in all my cars, including in the empty space behind the Lightning's frunk:

Had some evidence of mice in the bed on mine, but no evidence they were in the cab or font trunk at all. I've got bait traps in my garage now, hopefully I won't see them again.

We had a resident feral cat who lounged around and hunted in our yard. Now the beast has vamoosed as a pair of raccoons have taken up residence in the hollow tree by our garage. Raccoons are excellent mouse hunters, so I imagine the area around our garage entrance is relatively mouse-free. My main worry is going into the open garage at night and encountering a raccoon or two exploring what the garage has to offer. So, hopefully, between raccoons and feral cats in the neighborhood, no mice. A huge possum is wandering around, too, but I doubt it's as adroit hunting and catching mice as our resident raccoons and cats.
