I restart mine at least once a week just to free the ram of any cache and to reset the kernel. Same with my iPad and MacBook Pro. While iOS will close down processes in the background, it still does keep some things buffered.
It always is a good thing to do that reset, even us and sleep 🥳
Is that the delivery cost too? My per kWh is low but they charge a separate delivery charge so my combined is $0.125, but for 4 hours they are killing me softly at $0.29 during peak. Kids don’t understand why we have to live in the dark those hours…..🤔🤣😂
Nope still a useless tab taking up space on my screen. Even asked @Ford Motor Company to allow us to at least reprogram it for something useful.
I suspect the “record a message” really has a “the mailbox is full” reply.
Maybe….
my GOM is actually being accurate right now. It is my SOC that is off by now 10 kWh.
Seems maybe one of the last updates messed with the SOC calculation and maybe it is struggling to truly “interpret” the pack as well as it did. 🤷♂️
Thankfully I have car scanner and monitor what...
Totally agree. Outside of some SOC issues currently I love my lightning.
If I was always needing to charge on the road, it might matter more but so far I have always been able to just plan either shorter stops for people to use the facilities and do multiple or have one longer one planned...
As my “Alpha” son likes to say, if you understood me enough to correct me, you know what I meant.
Educating someone is always a good thing, when you know them, they want it, and it is import.
For the charger discussion, you are absolutely correct, but to a point kWh is also correct because EA...
I think one factor that you missed and will become more important as costs go up is the potential additional charging cost. As DCFC are getting in the $0.55-0.79 a kWh, that extra stop is starting to add up. 🤷♂️
Definitely something going on with the BMS and some bs. Trying to drive the battery down and what should have been around 93% usable battery is still showing at 100%.
seems @Ford Motor Company has a needed software fix in the future. 🤷♂️
If there was an impact it would likely be a positive one. Most rechargeable batteries enjoy the trickle charge over the the faster chargers.
Once it hits 99% it is pretty mute as the balancing process I have seen in the previous just charging to 100% days has always slowed to an extremely slow...
Well was finally able to drain the battery and charge it back up and top balance it. As I was doing some of this while out of town, please ignore the 69 hours that it took as I was modulating my charger remotely to have it finish when I was home.
So drained the truck down to 10% dSOC that was...

Yep that is the efficiency you can currently expect. It will get worse as winter sets in, the air becomes more dense and you decide you want heat too. (Another 10-15% hit likely until you drive in the really cold)
The only way to increase it is to slow down and bundle up. 🤷♂️
Love your unloading rack. That is one thing I still need to put together for mine, but it will stay on for another month.
How much hit did you see to your efficiency?
Having mine at the bedrail level I have not seen any impact.
As it stick past the tailgate a little, I am thinking of...
You may be correct here. Marketing typically wins over science and accuracy 🤷♂️
I hope it doesn’t bit them in the rear with people getting stranded or worse battery warranty claims if the software makes degradation look worse then it is. 😱
Thank Mickey, me and many on this forum value your hard work and knowledge. I appreciate you taking the time to comment as your direct experience was what I was referring to as you have alluded many times on here that our cells act “different”, and that data is invaluable.
Thank you once again...
