If you're a buyer of this system, you should know how much it costs and be willing to tell us the price you paid for the equipment.
The company and it's distributors treat prices as some sort of secret though, so maybe they have offered you some compensation for posting this on the condition...
Sounds like Sunrun doesn't want to do this unless they can also sell you a new solar system. You can buy the equipment from Sunrun and hire your own electrician to do the install.
To be completely clear, are you saying that, for V2X, the truck needs no additional setup and will DISCHARGE through this system just by making a DC connection just like it would with any other DC charger?
Is this rear harness entirely limited to the area under the bed? The idea of replacing a wiring harness gives me visions of what Tesla wanted to do with my Model S to replace one slightly gnawed wire between the HVAC controller and an A/C valve, which would have entailed almost complete...
It's one of several parts of the HV DC wiring harness. I don't think the inverters are the only parts it connects to, but I don't know what else it attaches to.
The MSRP for a single headlamp assembly is $1,507.63. By comparison, $1.500 for a wiring harness seems cheep. But the need to replace the HV wiring harness largely convinced me to abandon this idea.
Full disclosure: Some Ford dealers will sell you a headlamp assembly for a bit under $1000...
No. The truck doesn't apply the friction brakes constantly in one-pedal drive mode. At most speeds, it uses the motors to create drag by generating power to recharge the battery.
At very low speeds, regenerative braking doesn't provide a useful amount of braking drag. Ford has chosen to...
To my mind, Kia/Hyundai is really setting the standard for EVs available in the US. They don't sell an EV pickup, but every EV they offer is among the very best in its category. Don't blame the US automakers. The Europeans are just as bad. BMWs EVs make me want to hurl.
Cool. Thanks for the explanation. I'll buy a 72-hour license later today or tomorrow, poke around a bit over the weekend, and see what I can figure out. I'll plan to do it again when I have parts in hand because I know with certainty that I won't manage to print everything I need with all the...
I'm a little confused. If I try to sign up for 12-month subscription to the Professional Technician System (PTS) for $399, the site tries to bundle in a one-year linense to the Ford Diagnostic & Repair System (FDRS) software for another $1500. Would I need both?
I have to say that I'm a lot...
He agreed to do it with THHN in conduit & then did it in the exact way you'd asked him not to? And you paid him? Was the work being done without permits?
100% normal and not any sort of concern.
That breaker, the panel it's in, and the wires & MC cable connected to it all have maximum temperature ratings. All of those should be 75° C or 90° C. The lower rating controls and that's probably 75° C. You're not close to that.
I have $2k+ I'm ready to spend with no guarantee of success and I'm willing to to take my truck off the road for a week.
Let's talk when you have time to help. I have an idea of what parts are needed, but don't have any certainty about it. With a solid list of parts to buy, I can order them...
It boils down to a pretty simple and sensible rule. If you do something they ask you not to do (aftermarket parts, unapproved modifications, etc.) AND that thing causes damage, the warranty doesn't need to cover the damage that is caused by that thing you did.
If a shade-tree mechanic does work...
If I had to choose, I'd rather have PPO work when the truck is off and not work when the truck is on, rather than the other way around. I'm not sure I've ever needed 120v power while I was using the truck as a vehicle. And it's been a pain in the butt to get 120v power out of it every time I've...
I'm not an electrician.
But it's my understanding that the purpose of breakers and receptacles that only fit plugs for 15A or 20A loads is to protect building wiring (truck wiring, in this case), not the cords or appliances that get plugged into the receptacles.
No non-defective product relies...
