It's not a 50A charger, don't mislead people. It's a 40A charger that requires a 50A circuit.

Do you have a ETL listing for the 48A charger? I can't find one on the Intertek site.

Lastly, you have a picture of a Ford Raptor where you show a Lightning.

It looks like there are two versions : a 40 amp and a 48 amp. I noticed that as well the Mach E and the Lightning spelled out but the picture is of a Raptor-LOL

Found this on the Amazon reviews. I may live in Texas, but I think my neighbors would frown on me drawing my gun every time I want to stop charging.

Good job pointing it out.
Even in this forum folks will fall for that.
Also, they may advertise 48amps until you find that the unit may or are seated to 40amps to preserve their dependability.
Usually you find about those things after you purchase the unit and made the installation.

Thanks for the comment! Our hardwired version can deliver up to 48A. It’s ETL listed, FCC certified, and also Energy Star certified. 😊

Our charger has adjustable current settings, and the plug-in version supports up to 40A.😊

That's an Amazon link. Show me the cert.
Not sure what you mean by "cert." but this is in the description - they have 2 models on that page, one is 40A the other 48A max output.

It says it has a NEMA 14-60 plug (60A). But a receptacle rated for over 50A would result in a code violation.

Code limits EVSE plug-in / outlets to 50A - so would this plug-in set-up be code compliant with a 60A circuit/receptacle, even though it draws a max 48A? Probably not. It needs to be on a 60A circuit (125% x 48 = 60A)

Inspectors can be picky for good reason. The code says:

"625.44 Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment Connection. ... (B) Connections to Other Receptacle Outlets. Electric vehicle supply equipment that is rated 250 V maximum and complying with all of the following: (1) It is intended for connection to nonlocking, 2-pole, 3-wire and 3-pole, 4-wire, grounding-type receptacle outlets rated not more than 50 amperes. ..."

Also, I believe the code now require any plug-in EVSE outlet be GFCI protected (625.54), so hard-wired would be less hassle anyway since EVSE's and GFCI protected circuits can result in nuisance trips.

About this item

  • 48A Fast Charging: The electric vehicle charger for home, provides up to 38.34 miles of range per hour. With a maximum output current strength of 48amps and a maximum output power of 11.52KW, reducing Ccharging time. Charge efficiently and return on the road faster, enjoying a seamless driving experience.
