It is out of my control, I've resigned that I'll be watching it arrive just after the new year and due to my situation I'll more than likely not be able to use the new Tax Credit in '23.
I'm the same status. Maybe transact the paperwork by 12/31? Curious regarding your '23 tax situation---is your XLT SR is over 80k with options or is it due to the income limits?

My dealer is allowing me to sign up on the truck at any time now that the truck has "shipped". They warn that the truck still shows on chip hold and that there is no ETA. If I purchase truck now, the loan begins and my warranty begins but the title transfers to me and they truck will have been "delivered" from a paperwork standpoint. For me, the 7500 dollar credit is worth taking the risk that I lose a month of warranty and have to start making loan payments a month early.
I may have to ask my dealer again. They were not receptive to this idea a few weeks ago.

Does your state require insurance to title it? What happens if the truck never comes or comes damaged? will they replace it? I guess the insurance company would have to fix it? it sounded like my dealer would consider this approach too, but I would have to have insurance on it to title it. I told her lets discuss this last week of the year if it comes to that lol

That is a good question. Even with the title transfer, the carrier is likely responsible for insurance but to be safe I will begin my insurance on the day I purchase it so it will be covered.

That is a good question. Even with the title transfer, the carrier is likely responsible for insurance but to be safe I will begin my insurance on the day I purchase it so it will be covered.
How would your insurance be affected if it came to that? Collision or comprehensive? I would call your insurance company since I doubt we will be able to get the carrier's info. Who knows how much their insurance covers and how.

Does anyone see movement on their rail car yet? My rail car says its status was last updated as "empty" and release by customer in Jackson Mississippi in November. Ford told me today that they confirmed it actually shipped earlier than I was previously told (December 11).

You're calling the wrong railroad. These cars get passed around from railroad to railroad all the time. Who are you tracing with?

I was told it Shipped Rail on Railcar # TTGX158079 on Canadian National Railways. I've been trying to track using CSX # 1-800-235-2352

Sorry I’m late to the game, but I just found this forum recently. My MY23 Lariat is built and awaiting shipment. I’m in a little different boat than the rest of you because I’m in Michigan. My truck only has to come about 100 miles down I-94! I have a scheduled delivery date between 12/19 and 12/25. Hopefully that happens and I can take delivery before NYE!

Yep. That's your problem. You'll start out on CN and will either get passed off to UP (most likely) or BNSF since you're west coast. CSX handles the east coast.

BNSF you can't trace but I'd recommend calling UP. If you were shipped out on the 11th they should have your railcar by now.

Michigan deliveries are interesting because you will never get a shipping notification. One day you'll get a call from your dealer that the truck arrived. That seems to be how it works for everyone who has a convoy only delivery.

I'm also a Michigan XLT delivery. I'm still waiting on the "Built" status. A chat agent told me that the truck is on a chip hold. Its weird to see later blends but same exact builds get the "built" checkmark. I'm holding out hope for a Christmas surprise.

Awesome, thanks William! UP has it. They said it was pickedup/loaded 5 minutes ago and will be delivered December 20 at 10:10 am. I assume that's just to where it transfers to the next train.

That December 20th date is the estimated date of your railcar's final destination, or at least that's how I've understood it. I believe CN exchanges cars with UP in Chicago. 5 days from CHI to LA seems a bit fast so it is possible that date could be till when a transfer happens.

@indubitalist I believe you had done some research on the whole rail shipping process. What is your take on the end date given by UP from their automated trace line?
