I would love to see how many are first time EV owners. I suspect first time owners buy extended range because they do not have a feel for how efficient the vehicles are. A false range anxiety pushes them to buy extended range when home charging and true driving distances would only require a standard range. I learned this with the Mach-e being my first EV. I bought standard because it was all I could afford, but I have never come close to using 100% of the battery when driving.

I've been BEV only since 2014, started with 80 mile range and drove everywhere with it. Ironically I now have more than three times that range and have more range anxiety now.?‍. I think with a less efficient truck first time ev buyers are better off with the ER though. You know for the people who buy trucks with the dream of using it like a truck to do truck things... they want to dream of driving 300 miles everyday all day too...

I’m a first time BEV buyer. I think the 230 mile range will work fine, but if the ER battery were available for $5-7K on the Pro I would’ve purchased it.

I used to drive ~300 miles per day in a Passat TDI, living in Flagstaff and commuting to south Phoenix most days. It sucked a lot, I wouldn’t recommend it. I did consider a BEV when I purchased the Passat TDI in 2017. Range anxiety was a factor (but most of the places I commuted to had charging stations), but cost was the bigger factor. Comparing the Passat TDI purchased used for $16K vs anything electric at the time was a no brainer, cost per mile was less than half as much.

I added mine. First time EV owner, and I will be coming from a Tundra with a large gas tank. I ordered the standard and am already a little nervous about range. I live in an EV friendly area (Tampa Bay). My typically daily drive is less than 4 miles to the office and back and I only do about 4-5 road trips a year that require driving over 200 miles to destination. I figure I can borrow the wife's ICE if there isn't a destination charger or plan a convenient stop along the way for those few times.

Ya, I know I can't get a $75k vehicle so either I'm going to wait and see what the 23 model holds as far as any changes or wait even longer to see how the Chevy shakes out. Or keep my current farm/tow vehicle and get the VW bus or maybe a mini Cooper se or maybe just nothing. I'm not in a huge hurry to get an $700-800 a month vehicle payment

Given that I am either a 2023 or 2024 MY build with my May 29th reservation I am right with you on the gut check with 74K to get the options I'm looking for.

The base ID4 comes better equipped than the Pro so I'm hopeful the Base Buzz will put me in a vehicle in the same timeframe with better interior features at a lower price point. March 9th has been added to my calendar.

I have gotten to the point when I had to stop and charge one time so far in 5 months ish. And it was due to my error with the app and only charging during peak hours so when I got to work and plugged in it didn’t charge at all. Screw that off peak crap, I’ll just plug it in before bed instead of when I get home. But I want my damn car to charge when I plug it in lol.

People seem to be extremely concerned with Dcfc speeds and highway range when in reality that's an extremely small part of most people's driving habits. However, if people bought vehicles for what they need and not for what they want/think they 'need' , we probably wouldn't be getting a bev f150 and Ford would still be selling sedans in the USA.

From 48 orders recorded to date about 1/2 were priority. Wonder how many paid ADM? Maybe Ford is using this variable to set waves? Anyone on list promise ADM?

I'm confused on what you're asking. From your posts, your dealer charges ADM, you agreed to it, you're #1, but you didn't get Wave 1 invite. Are you suggesting you didn't get wave 1 because your dealer is one of those that charges ADM?

I am just wondering if Ford is already punishing. My dealer swears I was in Wave #1 when he looked it up on the Monday before but invite didn’t come and now the wave box is blank. I do not know what to believe.

It is possible not every dealer received a wave 1 invite. We don’t have enough data to know unfortunately. We are a very small percentage or people that ordered.

Agreed. It would be interesting to know if anyone agreeing to ADM ordered but I doubt if anyone would fes up considering the troll-hate thrown around here.

Is anyone getting invites still or did all 1st wave invites go out on the 6th? My dealer implies that the 1st wave is ongoing and that we could still be placing orders for 1st wave. Not sure if they are just confused by Ford's handling of this process or not.

Seems odd that dealerships are so in the dark on this
