Keep in mind the adapters in this thread are for level 2 AC changing only - the adapter the Jim Farley spoke about during the NACS announcement would be a different one that supports high amp DC fast charging at a supercharger.

I also added this as not a have to use for me, I'm adjusting my travel plans to target 50% to 80% SOC at my destinations and then if there is some options to get to 100% SOC with an adaptor that would be awesome. Honestly this will hopefully help or trips to USM in Hattiesburg Mississippi for our daughter's 1st year this summer.

Guys I need some advice. I have never traveled with my Pro (not in a way that required third party charging). My understanding is that my Pro can't charge more than 48A so there is no point in getting an adapter that is 60A or 80A if they are more expensive. Is that correct?

Also, what happens if I plug into an 80A Tesla destination charger with my 48A adapter? Does my Pro tell the charger to cool it down to 48A? Charger will refuse to charge? Or it will fry my inverter and adapter?

What adapter do you recommend for my case to have the most flexibility without being overkill?

The charger communicates with the truck to tell it the maximum current available. The truck determines how much it actually takes so there is no danger of it taking too much current.

It worked as advertised, I noticed no heat or issues. I did have to start the session in the ford app.
