Recently received my Pro, I installed a CSP and left the amp setting on 80 amp. I know the SR battery cannot utilize the 80 amp capability but saw no harm in leaving it set to 80.
My charge rate always shows as 10kwh which calculates to 41.6 amps. I would have expected a little bit more but I guess that's the best it can be. Just posting to share with others that have the same setup.
  • 125 amp sub panel ~45 feet from 200 amp main
  • #2 copper feed to sub panel
  • 100 amp breaker feeding the CSP
  • About 25 feet #3 copper to CSP
  • 10 kWh max charge rate

SR max charge rate is 48 amps. There is also about a 10% loss to heat and running other systems while charging.

Usually you donā€™t see the loss in the charge rate but rather in the amount of energy used compared to what was added. You add 50kWh to battery but actually used 55kwh of power from the panel.

I believe displayed charge rate does include that. My emporia charger will typically read about 9,600 watts being delivered at 40amps. While at the same time the FordPass app will read either 8 or9 kw. This is also assuming the FordPass app reading is relatively accurate and we donā€™t know how they are rounding their numbers.

I have a ER. My csp is set for 48 and I see the same 10kw you are showing. With a fluke clamp meter on my feed to the charger I am seeing 46.5 amps. I would assume you are getting around the same.

I'm seeing 13.4% less than 48 amps (according to Ford Pass app - 10 kWh). Nothing else drawing on my circuit except a garage refrigerator. I'm going to throw a clamp ammeter in the panel box and compare. I'll also verify the voltage.

Below is a summary of the last charge

Ford F-150 Lightning 2023 Pro Standard Range - CSP 10kWh max 1682792328099

Supply voltage is also a variable- at home I have 240v, at work about 205v; while the allowable current seems fixed by the EVSE (or the vehicleā€™s charger), the lower voltage (205vac) results in about 15% lower kW into the vehicle.

At what voltage? Lower-than-240vAC supply voltage (say, from 205v-240v) could account for the lower kW.

My inlet voltage is 243.2 with the csp on and pulling 46.5 amps. With a setting of 48 amps
