Yes, it's unreasonable.

Basically Ford service will let it sit until they get bored and finally decide to work on the dirty EV.

And even better update.

I asked dealer about ETC on Command Module that was supposed to be ordered last Friday. Seems Ford techs put a hold on the order and cannot make up thier minds if it is a Command Module issue or a Telematic Control Unit.
Seems they prefer continue this damn science project and conduct more unless tests when the simple answer is order and install both and then test them on their to figure out which (or both) has caused the problem. At this pace I might not see my truck for anther month. Happy Days!

Many years ago when I ran a Sports car repair shop couple of guys were debating how to tell if a spark plug was bad. A senior guy walked up and said it was very easy. (I live in south Florida) he said you find a saltwater canal that is at least 15 feet deep. Place the spark plug to be tested gently on the surface and let go. If it floats “it’s good” if it sinks “it was bad”. Nuff said. Don waste your time, Replace them all and move on!!!!!

Simply said, the costs for time they are wasting (mine and thiers) trying to troubleshoot the issue cost far more than just replacing the suspect modules as soon as there was a suspicion they were bad.

At 2:07 pm today my Ford Pass App lit up and said "Activation to Blue Smoke Complete"!!!

All my connected benefits re-synced.

Dealer called said that "Ford asked Dealer tech to confirm APIM? number" and when they did everything turned on. I have no clue why they asked since the truck has been communicating since last August 2022 when the dealer I purchased it from used it as a demo. Best I can understand is Ford dialing the wrong number so it was always OOS.

Dealer Tech is still running tests but this is the best news I have had since I dropped it off on 9/21. 🤞

Got my truck back around 3:00 today. All recalls were performed in addition to making it talk to the Mothership.
Bad news is that OTA still shows as partially completed. So I can confirm the dealers cannot install OTAs. Let’s see what happens now Ford can access the truck.
Happy to have it back but very unhappy with Ford support of the Dealer. Ford left them hanging for over a week. Total time with dealer 20 days!!!

Wow, I'm so glad you got your truck fixed.

I don't find it strange that the dealership is comfortable being slow. Unlike an ICE for which you could take your truck to a local mechanic; what are your options for an EV?

Under my "Vehicles" please note the 'Lightning almost purchased.' Love my MME but I'm not wanting a bunch of truck issues. I don't mind being an early adopter (and we are still early adopters) but I don't want a bunch of headaches or to have a bricked truck 150 miles from home in a Cracker Barrel parking lot.
