Anyone else notice the nav selection on the infotainment system is now gone?

I have a Lariat with the bigger screen, and there's that ribbon of selection buttons between the climate controls at the bottom and whatever is selected for the top half of the screen. Now with the new software update there's a second carplay tile, but the navigation tile is gone. Is there a limit to how many tiles there can be and is there a way to get rid of the extra bluetooth selection and get the ford nav back? I know it's not the best but I still use it occasionally. I realize I can get it back on the main screen via voice or the steering wheel buttons, but it should be one of those tile options across the bottom again.

Just swipe vertically to delete, and you can scroll horizontally...

If you launch NAV again from the top menu by Alexa, it should pop back up in that recent bar towards the bottom.

swiping vertical activates the tile, unless you mean down. I haven't tried that. I've launched the nav through other methods, but it only stays on the group until I turn off the vehicle and the it is not there the next time.

It's simply most recent usage. Open Nav, then switch to something else, and it will be back.

There must be either a limit to the number of available tiles or a priority system. I got rid of a few of them and now nav is staying from start up to start up, but yesterday it was not. The addition of the second phone option for car play plus the bluetooth were keeping it from showing up on the list even after I had used it for the next time i turned the car on.

And I thought it was just me...

This never used to happen.

So now seemingly everytime I start the truck, if it's been off long enough for the screen to go off, Apple Car Play tile comes up and shows the Apple Map, the Music, and I think something else from my phone...but the Nav that I had on the screen when I shut the truck off is now completely shutdown and has to be re-launched by hitting the Profile icon and then selecting Nav.

And again, the Car Play tile is the only one in the list below the top part of the screen when I start the truck up...until I reach up and re-launch Nav again. I just took a short drive this afternoon to run errands and had to re-launch Nav three times when I got back in the truck to go to the next destination after stopping to shop.

My Mach-E has done something similar occasionally but it doesn't do it every time like the Lightning is doing now.

No idea what this is all about...

there is something up, and there's a time element involved. This morning I went outside and started up the truck on the driveway. First time the nav wasn't there. Activated it via the steering wheel, swapped around to other items like the phone and radio, and then turned the car off. Started it back up and the nav selection was there. 6 hours later when I went to go get my son from school it was gone.

Nice to know I'm not the only one. It used to always be there. Now the tile is gone most of the time. Even if I don't use anything else to move the tile further back.

And on top of that, CarPlay connecting wireless has become spotty lately. I have to stop the car, open the door, start the car again to make it come back. This happens maybe 1 of our every 10 drives in the truck. It never used to do that either.

Mine rarely connects to CarPlay after the latest round of updates. I also cannot initiate the connection in the vehicle if I notice it didn’t connect. My phone might even say connected to Bluetooth, but the truck doesn’t recognize it. If you turn Bluetooth off and back on, or try to find the phone, it just searches and can’t find anything. I’ve had to resort back to plugging in to get it connected. It was never the fastest recognition compared to other brands, but it did work reliably. My 2022 Ram finds the phone instantly, even if the truck was running and you walk up to it.

I thought I'd post an update just to say that Nav is now back and staying on between starts. I have no idea why it decided that one day to just shut itself down everytime I would shut the truck off, but that behavior has stopped and things are seemingly back to normal. Very strange.

Hey there! I can look into your Lightning’s concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?
