Someday we will look back and think "wow, those vehicles where pretty primitive, how did we every use them?". I just hope that day is a few years away!

Charging speed >>> everything else, when it comes to long road trips. It doesn't matter how big the battery is, as long as it can get you to the next charger of course. Once that battery is exhausted the first time, then the ratio of driving time to charging time is purely about charging speed and vehicle efficiency (which we know is terrible for all trucks).

I haven't heard any rumours of big improvements in charging speed. What you would need is some kind of series-parallel arrangement like the Hummer so you could charge at 800 volts. Nothing like that in the pipeline for Ford that I've heard, but who knows what the future will bring.

Note that it looks like the new LFP is only slated for SR batteries. So probably not the answer for your long trips.
Actually, this is what I am looking for, my understanding is the LFP batteries will charge faster, can be charged to 100% so it hits both road tripping and limited driving under normal conditions.
