Battery gone bad

Howdy, anyone else need a new battery on their new lightning? Mine is 2 months old but its toast. What is the wait time for the replacement? Was your dealer capable? What should I look out for? Thanks.

How have you determined that your HVB has gone bad?

Dealer told me based on initial diagnostics, Bad Battery is "Probably the case".

What issues did you have? Sounds like your dealer is guessing

Did you drive it to the dealer? Thinking they probably mean a bad module. Or, will soon find out that's what they should have said.

Yes I drove it, actually they sad "bad Cell(s)." I thought "cell" was "the battery" Later I find out there there are multiple cells. It drives, if you drive gently.

Did you happen to get a call and/or email from Ford advising you about this potentially happening and trying to get you setup with an appointment?

Sure did. I got an email from Elisa the ford battery electric team. She suggested to take it into the dealer to diagnose. They have had it since 7AM monday. Hence their diagnostic activities. Yes its true I have little faith in the dealer but there is not much else I can do.

they basically change one of the 6 to 9 modules within the battery pack, not a single cell... it's built this way just for this reason. You don't want Ford shop employees trying to change cells within the modules, that's a little too much for the rank-n-file Ford shop. The swap is fairly easy, at least, once they've dropped the battery pack from under the truck and gain access thru the plastic cover.
There are actually Ford computer diagnostics that tell them exactly which cell/cells are underperforming.

I guess I can cancel this thread, After 3 days of investigating dealer is changing their story. no bad battery codes. I had to drive 23 miles to the dealer just to demonstrate unstable acceleration problem. I have a separate thread on that. THey don't know what the problem is. I don't think dealers are ready for this. I am regretting my decision :.
