Boot-Up Time for Sync

Hi Everyone,

I am inquiring about the start-up time of your Lightning Sync System.

On our last road trip, I started up the truck and wanted to enter a location into the Ford Navigation, so I waited for the Sync to boot up (a bit of a wait time). I would hit the navigation button, and then it would kick me out and open CarPlay, and then I would go back to the Ford Navigation. Both my wife and I noticed there seems to be a 30—to 40-second wait time to finally get to enter your location.

Is this normal, or do I need to have the dealer take a look at my Sync System?

Normal in my experiences with Android Auto, it takes a bit of time like you observed for Ford Nav to be ready, and then CP/AA do their connect routine and step on whatever I'm doing, so I've adapted my routine to wait for everything to settle into place and proceed with mission at hand.

Top tip, unlock with your remote or phone (instead of the handle) and the sync system will start booting before you open the door.

I turned off wireless car play which I think helps with the ford sync boot up becuase its not trying to connect and open carplay at the same time.

I’d be happy if it would just work properly without having to reboot it every time I get in the truck, sometimes twic, nevermind how long it takes.
