Buffalo, Wyoming Love's with DC fast chargers

The Wyoming State government seems particularly hostile to EVs. In 2023 they turned down the $24 million the feds wanted to give them via the NEVI program - this money would have built a fast charger network along interstate corridors in the state. Buffalo is on I90.

Some of the state legislators were trying to get the state to ban sales of EVs.

Yep done the I-90 route many times in our Lightning. In the winter it's brutal and we have to go across I-70 and up I-25 or up to Fargo and across I-94 (adds 130 miles). South Dakota is pretty bad as well.

I worry a little that our vehicle will get keyed or worse at some point. I watch it particularly close in Gillette, WY.

It was a "clown car" bill that was purely symbolic in 2023. However, I'm afraid Wyoming might try to ban EVs from driving on their roads and highways. On our last trip WY and SD missed out on a bunch of revenue from us (charging, hotels, food, etc.) Was happy to give all that revenue to North Dakota even though the distance was longer.

So I found some aerial photos of the Love's in Buffalo and I believe the guy at the planning department mistakenly thought the three 50a RV sites were DCFCs. Bummer.

I called Miller's Sinclair where the Supercharger is pinned for coming soon and the employee that answered the phone knew nothing about it.

It's nice to know that Buffalo has a potentially available 50a plug if needed. The campground closest to the interstate will not allow charging.
