Only 1 charge door. Drivers side is the charge door, passenger side is just cosmetic/for symmetry.

It would have been nice to o have a left and a right option, even if it just for j1772, not ccs. Particularly if they could both be used at the same time (public 30amp level 2 charging could become 60amp if parking between two charge stations).

Having two charge doors would have probably added up to $1000-1500 to the price. One is plenty.

Also, combining two chargers like that wouldn't work, because the vehicle would have to communicate to both of them at the same time.

The charge doors open by pushing them in, then they pop open. The first time I tried to open one, I was on the wrong side... and very confused when it didn't do anything.

Which BTW is the right way for charge doors to open. No fancy power mechanism that can fail.

If the second port is J1772 only, it doesn't do much communicating. But, yes, 2nd port would have added unnecessary cost. God only knows why Ford chose to put on a fake charge port door. It does nothing for esthetic and probably adds to cost. As far as I know the only EV that has 2 actual ports, is Taycam.

It allows for right or left side charge depending on the regulations in the international market.

The charge port can be on either side or front or back. It can also be in the middle of the front (like Leaf). There is no regulation for that. It's not a steering wheel! Ford didn't do that for MME, which is actually exported to places with right hand drive. Why would they do it for Lightning? Which is currently sold only in US and Canada.

What's The Perfect Charge Port Location?
https://insideevs.com/news/328027/take-our-poll-whats-the-perfect-charge-port-location/

"And Mary Smith, Ford Electrified Vehicle Technology Integration supervisor said, "The left front fender location keeps the charge port in sight, before the customer enters or exits the car, for an easy reminder to unplug or recharge. It creates an intuitive placement for owners that also has aesthetic appeal. "It's worth noting that GM also locates the charge ports of all their plug in offerings on the front left side of the vehicle."

Edit: I should have used the word 'prefer' in place of 'regulations' as to using right side of Lightning in countries that have right side driver. :)

For vehicles in those countries Ford may be planning ahead?

As I said, Ford didn't do this for MME's sold in right hand drive countries. And today, Ford doesn't even sell any sort of F150 in most of those. And creating a fake port door on the passenger side without changing any of the wiring leading to it isn't planning. No other EV did this.
