I dealt with a bit of that this winter too. A battery powered DeWalt heat gun was the easiest, slow solution.
I wonder if this might be a slight improvement.
The next thing would be replacing the plastic external or internal door panel with a rigid metal version. Then between the stiffer door and locking pin, it might feel slightly more robust when opening and closing.
@WillB17 Is this component compatible with our Lightning charge doors? I'd be willing to give it a try for you if you need a test mule.
