I just got a new LEER topper for my Lightning, but the installer was not able to connect the CHMSL or the FOB functions. Does anyone know exactly where these wires are located?

After long research, I figured it out.
The CMSL auxiliary wire is located just behind the wheel well cover directly at 12 o'clock. It's an ORANGE/GRAY wire tucked in a harness.

NOTE...
This wire is only energized when the ignition is ON. Pressing the brake pedal with the ignition OFF will still light your brake lights, but the CMSL will not light up. This is problematic and can cause a false fault.

The Key Fob wire connection are made at BCM connector C2280C, pins 32 and 35.

Pin 32 = All Open (GRN/BRN)
Pin 35 = All Lock (GRY/BRN)

That's all great information. Thanks for posting as I'm in a similar boat.
When using the wire to power the CHMSL I've noticed people referencing a "CHMSL filter harness", did you use a harness or did you just run straight to the brake light?

The filter is not needed when using the the auxiliary wire. And if you use the filter to tie into the break wires under the rear bumper, you will get interference with the factory trailer package.

Ok thanks that makes it easier 😀.
Out of interest why would someone need the filter?

Is there anyway to access marker and reverse lights? My cap has both (I can due without the signals)

Because Ford uses the same bulb for both brakes and turn signals. The diode filters out the turn signals. Without it, your chmsl would blink when using turn signals.

I don't know if anyway to wire any of your other topper lights. These new F150 ECM's are very sensitive. You can't just tap into any wire anywhere. This is especially true if you have the towing package.

How about I just have a CHSML alone!

… at least until someone comes up with a solution…..

Thanks for saving me some headache 😀
