Ford F-150 Lightning Class Action Lawsuit - Home Integration System IMG_1193
Do you have a telephone # for Ford as to this specific issue? The one I had been using, 800-777-6609, is disconnected. Also, any suggestions on how to determine if I have the V34 update?
To see the software rev # on your HIS, you need to download the MProfessional app on your phone. Hold your phone next to your HiS and search for your HIS in the app. The default password is 6532. Once it loads, you will see the Rev # in the opening screen.

The Ford BEV (and other groups) # is 800-392-3673 and ask to be transferred to the BEV team, if the person that answers isn't with the BEV team. Don't spend your time explaining your situation to whoever answers.

The 4-digit password specific to your HIS unit is also on the serial number plate on the side of the unit. The M Professional app will also inform you if there is a pending update for your HIS unit, and you can manually trigger it through the app. V34 is also the latest for me.

The Ford Home Integration System for the Ford Lightning has been oversold as a game-changing feature, but in reality, it’s more of a novelty than a necessity for most owners. While the idea of using the truck as a backup power source for your home is intriguing, the actual practical use of it falls short. For most people, the system is more about the “cool factor” than true utility. Between the high installation costs and the fact that home battery backups or generators offer more reliable and cost-effective solutions, it’s clear that this setup is not something the average Lightning owner will ever truly need or get their money’s worth from. ….
I disagree- I live in an area that loses power fairly frequently and the home backup part is fantastic. It is much quieter than a generator (and much easier to start), and I don’t have backup batteries just sitting there doing nothing. I am of an age where men really can die of heart attacks trying to start balky motors with year old gas in them, and hauling the generator uphill in snow is no fun. It is really nice to just plug into my transfer switch (from the bed outlet), flip the switch, and go back to bed.

I bought the 2023 Lightning for the purpose of using the Home Integration System (HIS) to store my excess solar during the day and use the truck batteries to power my home at night. I hooked up a temp solution while I was trying to decide whether to buy expensive Enphase batteries or buy the FORD HIS. My temp system solution has been problematic trying to back feed my home from the Pro Power Onboard,(PPO) which works somewhat but causes many of my AFCI breakers to trip on a regular basis. Is the problem that the system does not transfer automatically or that it doesn’t transfer at all?
The reason I want to go to the HISis that I can get twice as much power out of the truck at any given moment 19.2 kW with the HIS versus the 9.6 kW from the PPO. I am net zero on consumption, just need a storage solution. Thoughts?
The marine solution would be to have a smallish battery system that you recharge from the truck. That way the house and truck are completely isolated from each other. It is not really hard, I don’t know why the automakers have such trouble with it. Big yachts do this all of the time. Mastervolt and Victron are leaders in this area.

The Home Integration System can only supply 9.6 kW of power to the house, which is the same as the Pro Power output from the frunk (2.4 kW) and bed (7.2 kW) combined. When you mention 19.2 kW of power, that's the input power level to the truck when charging through the FCSP at 80 amps current. The main advantage of the HIS unit is no extra cords to run and supposedly fully automatic backup power transfer as well as remote control through energy.ford.com of the transfer process. Ford has yet to deliver on its promises or say anything substantial about when, if ever, that's going to happen. All the glad-handing from @Ford Motor Company in this forum and never a useful word about the state of the Home Integration System and when Ford is going to make things right YEARS after the white elephant was birthed.

I feel like like you could lemon the truck and all the components over this.... It's an advertised feature with factory sold and included components. Someone with this should contact the RAV team and see if you can get them to eat the whole shit sandwich.

Technically you can use 19.2 kW because the HIS and pro-power can be used at the same time. Would be a complicated setup though.

Oh crap! New Flash buyer here. I just found out that my Charge Station Pro can't power my house and I need to buy the extra Home Integration System that is $3,895 and can be ordered at the Sunrun website.
