As an FYI to people who might be interested in this.
another thing this is useful for is to power your radar detector.
The two wires going to the USB board is your 12V power from the mirror.

I cut those and used it to power my radar detector instead of using the mirror tap/sticking pins into a connector and hoping they stay there/method.
