Hey all, wanted to post this in case anyone else runs into it. I saw other threads with similar issues but didn’t see this mentioned.

First of all after having my truck for 3 weeks I was hit on the driver side by someone not paying attention and rolling through a stop sign. Most of the damage was on the back door which was completely replaced. I’ve come to find out the front door was removed to make repairs. When I got the truck back it sounded like being in a wind tunnel when going over 30mph.

I had multiple people drive it to make sure I wasn’t just insane and they all could hear it

After multiple back and forth trips to the body shop where they say the fixed it by adjusting the door in one way or another i finally got fed up and tried to find it myself.

Multiple attempts and test drives later I think it must be something other than the weather stripping and based on where I’m hearing the sound from I suspect the mirror. I pulled off the trim piece from inside the door and find that it looks like both of the connectors that run through to the mirror should be seated in the gaps. I pulled the passenger side off to validate. I was able to get enough slack in the larger plug to get it in, for the smaller on I stuffed some foam into the hole. Night and day difference in sound.

I hope this helps someone else down the road.

Looks familiar. I hope mine doesn't have your wind noise problem when I get it back. Thanks for your tips.

I was told I’m lucky it happened to the side and not the front since it’s the same as all F150s. Apparently they wait weeks for parts for the front. And the women’s 10k insurance policy BARELY covered the work.

Mine happened in a parking lot. No note left (surprise, surprise). Yeah, we share doors with the ICE truck. Mine was done after 3 days. But I'm out of town and won't get it until next week.

Here's to hoping your shop is better than the one i used. This was just one in a laundry list of things I've delt with. Currently waiting for a new window for the rear door because they scratched it so bad. The truck has 600 miles, and I don't even think the window has ever been rolled down. The shop manager goes "yeah, it's too new for me to say it was there before" ....
