Oh service isn't coverage on the truck? I am used to BMW don't have to pay for service for 3 years. Yeah I was not going to pay 8 to 9% on interest on a loan now. So I just paid it off. Only my tesla is finance at 1.99% and by the time i pay it off it will be less than $1k on interest.

But I am impress with the Lightning as I never liked Ford Vehicle but this feels like a tank. It is pretty solid and I feel like I can go off road or not worry about pot holes. Lol
I thought it was covered, but I felt bad for the ford dealer lol, so I did not complaint. I had seen also some posts with similar prices on here.

BMW makes you pay it some other way :).

Since you mentioned BMWs, I was joking with my wife the other day: On the BMW if my kids were shouting in the car, and I was outside, I would close the door and enjoy silence :). I can actually do that with the Lightning too to almost a similar degree. The sound proofing is amazing. My previous Model Y, even with the doubled paned windows, was no way close to this.

I have really good luck with German cars. Never really have issue with them. I usually just change the oil myself. Only my 2003 Mercedes SL500 had issue with the adjustable air shock suspension which I was able to replace the pump myself for $300 instead of $3k from the shops. I am hoping the F150L will be the same as I don't like getting gas already and would really hate to take the truck to the dealer for repairs. :) Plus I do not want to go back to a Ford Dealer after it took me 2 weeks to get the price I order it and getting rid of all their fake addon that was $4600.

I got an 8 years extended warranty so I want to have all the services recorded just in case. I had to transfer my reservation to another dealer because of what you mentioned.

I had Ford and their main IT team try to change my dealer before I order and they couldn't. They tried for days and keep escalating it. and they couldn't do anything. So I was stuck with the worse dealer. Also dealer couldn't make changes to my order so I didn't get the 9.6kw and max tow. Very sad.

I’m assuming some dealers are just being patient and waiting for Gas prices to sky rocket again.

Hard to justify that much for a truck. But alot of people that own a business dont care to buy it for that price since it is a write off to them. Either pay taxes or get toys that has full write off.

I don’t think people are selling them because their financial situation has changed. I don’t fall under that category, but I am selling because I see my specific lightning absolutely tanking in value, my specific needs have changed as well (bought a bigger boat than originally planned so I need a tow vehicle that can tow to and from my beach house easily and all the chargers along the way have shut down, another huge advantage for tesla is their charging network and who knows when all their chargers will be open to the public, years I’m sure).
I think the lightning was overhyped and underdelivered to a lot of people, but for those that have them and love them that’s great. I can’t say that all lightnings are complete junk, but I am definitely not happy with my specific one. I love EVs and could've used a truck, so I went for it, didn’t work out for my needs so I’m selling it for a cheaper payment vehicle in the meantime until an EV truck comes out that does suit my needs.

As far as PAAK, at least on my 2022, it’s very glitchy, yesterday I got locked out of my truck and had to use the passcode to get in (app was open and running standing right next to it). So you’re not missing out on anything there.

Sounds like my Tesla. Have that issue constantly. Tesla opening their charging for Ford so that wohld have solved your issue. Also the Pro doesnt come with all the features I though was standard but I am ok with that since it is a truck.

You had that issue with your tesla and PAAK? I never had a single issue with mine, or as someone else mentioned the soundproofing. Mine was quiet, rode smooth, well built, zero issues. I only sold it to get the lightning because of how useful trucks are especially having rental properties/flips etc. I must of had one of the best built Tesla’s (I’ve heard plenty of horror stories about them) and worst built lightnings then. I’m pretty sure I can hear an ant fart outside my lightning with the windows up, so kids screaming would sound like they’re inside the truck. Ford said that’s normal though.

My tesla seems quiet but you will hear road noise. People in the rear seat cant hear me talk. I dont have any other issue but had alot of issue with PAAK. Migbt have improved with some updates.

I have alot of rentals properties too and I cant fit all my tools in the tesla and a ladder. Also with f150 i can use the power to power the house if the renters turn off power before i can get it rented. Better than me having to transfer the power ro my name and pay the extra fees to turn it on.

But it better to keep a truck and have other cars too that would make alot more sense.

Let's face it, you should have passed on the Lightning even before you bought it. Your first post speaks volumes. Feels like you went into this transaction with unrealistic expectations. Any new model in it's first year will have issues, regardless of the manufacturer. Whether you are unfamiliar with Ford, didn't take it for a test drive to see how it drove compared to a Tesla before you drove it off the lot, or didn't negotiate a better finacial deal, the end result is on you. Sell it, take the loss and move on.
Exactly. The OP went from trying to trying to justify a lease on another vehicle by the value of the forum's collective guess of the value of his truck after two years 'to make [the lease] worth it.' He was unhappy with the truck and that should be enough. Life's too short. I speak from a similar experience with a leased ID.4 FE. Thankfully, after months of boiling hatred, VW bought the car back.

Yeah I drove the ID 4 didn't like it all. Felt really cheap and slow. Had reservation for that when it first came out too.

Makes sense, I liked the back up power issue but I honestly never used it. I thought I would more. We mainly have Airbnb’s so the utilities are already in our name, only a couple long term rentals but they have friends in them so no worries on the utilities. What year was your tesla? Mine was a 2022 Model Y, also had the 19s on it which helped with the ride quality and road noise.

Trucks are definitely useful, luckily I have several I can borrow at a moments notice. I don’t want two vehicles unless one is a supercar for nice days, so I’ll wait until the cybertruck (or ram rev possibly but don’t trust their EVs yet) comes out.
