Extended reservation holders - are you able to switch dealers before ordering ?

I am hearing on other social media forums that those that extended their reservations and now receiving '23 order invites are NOT able to change dealers ?

Is this correct or can the dealer change be done before placing the order ?

I think it's because in order to have received the option to 'extend' your PRO or XLT order to 2023, you had to have basically 'placed your order/held over your reservation', which then ties you to THAT dealer.

I think it's because in order to have received the option to 'extend' your PRO or XLT order to 2023, you had to have basically 'placed your order/held over your reservation', which then ties you to THAT dealer.
So the allocation for the extended reservation holder is now tied to that original dealer and can't be moved ?

It appears that way for this Wave. Not sure on going forward as it still states on the reservation it can be moved.

Can an extended Pro reservation holder who received an 8/10 invitation now order a Larriet?

I don't think you are tied into any specific trim level - if you want a Lariat instead, go for it.

I would certainly take up higher with FORD since it clearly states that you CAN. You have something in writing, even if they tell you otherwise.... maybe.

That is exactly what is happening with extended reservation holders - they call Ford and are told they can not change dealers.

I tried sending some emails to ford execs that I found online but haven’t heard back. Tried the chat feature as well…still no help. Anyone have good contact info for higher ups?

Was finally able to switch dealers. Radically the original dealer I selected at time of reservation did something and it changed the status to amended. Because of this Ford Cs could not change the dealer. I got about 10 different answers from Ford CS. Finally the new dealer was able to change it on their end through the area sales rep. Smith Cairns Ford in Yonkers NY was fantastic in helping me switch and honoring MSRP with my reservation extension. Scarsdale Ford in NY was horrible…8k markup and wasted hours of my time in trying to get the dealer changed. Ford CS was useless.

Can you please tell me what exactly the dealer did to allow Ford to change dealer? I called Ford and they said it can't be done now -- the Ford rep even tried it and said -- "System says error" and management told them this issue will not be fixed.

I actually received a call from someone at ford corporate Friday stating they were the ones who had resolved the issue by manually going into the system and changing it. It actually turns out that it wasn’t the dealer or CS that did it. I had sent an email to them explaining the situation and what my issue was.
