I understand that, but I thought it'd more closely represent the voices that seem to be the loudest on the forums. I guess the silent majority prefer Lariat.

I've not listened to either one so take this with a grain of salt, but everything I've read/watched says the B&O system in general isn't that great, and some claim the standard non-B&O system is better than Unleashed. So if I were you I'd hunt down ICE versions to compare for yourself.
I plan to swing in today or tomorrow to compare some colors and just get behind the wheel of one for the first time lol. I’ll add that to the list as well.

I’m also leaning Rivian even though I selected “Lariat”. I’m still waiting on official range and cost, but it’s not looking like the Lariat extended range is going to be cheaper than Rivian adventure package.

The 160K battery/motor warranty provided by Rivian is also appealing. With a May 22nd Lightning reservation, it’s likely Rivian will get to my order before Ford.
It will be interesting to see how they provide warranty and service since they have no dealer network.

Rivian'll have to eat the cost of transporting a truck all the way to the nearest service center.

Candidly, I can’t answer this until I see pricing. For me anything between Pro & Platinum is an option, but not a fan of having 22“ wheels. If priced right, I would be tempted by the Lariat.

The B&O system in my Mach E is underwhelming. I would not make it a priority in speccing another vehicle purchase.
I second this. I have the B&O in my 21 XLT and it’s garbage.

Can you define garbage? Are words unintelligible?

How would it compare to say speakers on a cellphone?

No, I really can’t. I should clarify that to me it’s garbage. I am not an audiophile, I haven’t had an Audiogram in over 2 years, so maybe I am not the best person to describe this system and what makes it garbage to me. I haven’t found a stock system that makes words unintelligible, so it’s not that level of garbage. There are not a lot of adjustments to be made on an optional sound system upgrade for my taste.

I will say, it’s not on the level of a Tesla System or ELS Acura System. But if you want it, get it, I’m sure it’s better than the stock system.

Yeah, for my usage the base system in my 2016 F150 is great (never really had an audio system in a car that I found an issue with). I had Bluetooth go out on a recent road trip in my F150 and had to just use the speakers on my cell phone. That was not ideal, but tolerable.

Then I suppose the B&O should be fine, it's sounds best with Sirius XM although I have read that Tidal takes it to another level.

There are 3 tier of stereo on the F150 Lightning

1. Pro, XLT gets stock (no upgradable path as of now) 7 standard Speaker System with NO SW

If you are someone who enjoys music, simply skip this crap or do the aftermarket installation

More info on this

https://www.f150forum.com/f129/2021-basic-sound-system-upgrade-thread-496661/

2. Lariat and Lariat Premium gets B & O 8 speakers (with one mounting SW just like the Mach E)

Better than the stock ones , but still vastly underwhelming for audiophiles or someone who enjoys great sound.

Again still no path to upgrade even at the Lariat Premium Level ($80K Truck)

3. Platinum gets the B & O Unleashed 18 speakers system (one of the best system on any Truck, those ceiling speakers truly creates unique experience (Acura RDX has similar setup and it was simply amazing).

You can read more about it here

My biggest issue with this is why Ford isn't offering an option for Lariat or Lariat Premium buyers to get the B&O Unleashed? The price difference between Lariat Premium to Plat is little over 10K , which to me is the worst ROI out of all the Trim out there.

Ford, if you are reading this, please make B&O Unleashed available for all the Lariat Buyers (70k to 80K Truck)

The unleashed is available on the ice Lariat an option so I’m hoping that ends up carrying over.

I asked Ford on the last Webinar, they are saying the only way to get the B&O Unleashed is thru F150 Lightning Platinum :(
