Bought a brand new in box Ford Charge Station Pro from a member last week. Just got it installed today on a 100A breaker.
I followed the instructions to set it up with the app and it currently charges flawlessly at 17.4kwh rate. What a change from the mobile charger @110V! Definitely will be a game changer for my commute. The faster charge time will add more flexibility for me👍

That rate caught me off guard for a moment until I saw that you have a 2022. As expected, I only get a little over 10KW on my single charger 2024.

And yes, a HUGE improvement over the mobile cable with 120V! Only did that once before I installed a 14-60 outlet at home and then replaced that with my FCSP after it arrived a couple weeks later. Get more power in an hour with the FCSP than I could get all night on 120V.

So little update from yesterday's installation. After 2h of use the FCSP started to cut out intermittently (like every 5 mins) and I was getting that "overheated" failure with the solid Amber display on the station.

Thanks to this amazing forum I was able to troubleshoot the issue:

1- power cycle the FCSP ( breaker off for 30 mins)
2- waiting another 30 minutes for the station to reconnect to my wifi and talk to the Ford apps again. Firmware was still the original 2.112.64
3- fast forward to last night I unplugged the truck and checked again the firmware version still at 2.112.64. Then around half past midnight, did a quick recheck before heading to bed and to my surprise firmware got updated. I now show 2.112.125.3.15.....

Which i believe is the latest one although my software version shows 5.0.16. I have read some have version 5.0.25. Not too sure if it matters. But hopefully the high temperature sensor issue will be resolved. I haven't tested it yet as I don't currently need a charge. Will keep you posted!

I also have a FCSP wired for a max of 80A (max 19.2kW rate ) although I have an SR battery so limited to 48A.

I am an electrical engineer.

More likely than a firmware problem with the heat warning/fault might be improper torquing of the connectors inside the FCSP so they came loose after a bit of use.

Have your electrician re-torque them.

9 times out of 10 that is the issue with over heating fault.

Good luck.

PPS: do not try to tighten them yourself unless you know what you are doing:

1) turn off the power to the FCSP via the breaker in your panel
2) test the hot wires for voltage (as a double check that it is off) with a tester that can test a 240VAC circuit and
3) use a torque screwdriver that can do the job - can do the 60 in-lbs for the hots and the 35 in-lbs for the ground.

The overheating error was a common occurrence with the original firmware. I got the same message the first day I used it but it installed an update that night. No further issues in the last 14 months.
Oh, didn't know that, thanks for the info.

I have an old firmware version - 5.0.16 - at least I haven't seen any update to the firmware since install back in may 2024 - bought it on eBay in Jan 2024.

I got a software update to 2.112.125.3.15.3.15.3.15.3.15 recently (March 2025) from the original 2.112.64:0.0:0.0:0.0:0.0, is that what we are referring to?

Anyway, I never went over 48A charging and never experienced any faults.

yeah, seemed to only affect those charging at 80 amps and turning it down was the work around until the update. Some still reported the issue after the update but mine has been solid since. Don't recall what the original firmware was but was showing a pending update after installing mine March 2024. Reset the breaker to force the update after a quick google search when mine gave the overheating error. Then there was also the more recent version you mentioned.

I might have to try the off/on reset and see if the firmware updates, if I feel brave enough that is.

I got the software update out of the blue in March 2025, no on/off or reset button press needed.
And that SW update allowed me to finish the setup and add the FCSP to FordPass, finally after many months of error at the last step.

Now that it works, I am leery of fiddling - if it ain't broke don't fix it as they say.

Just checked my firmware numbers, now 5.0.25,
must have updated between today April 12, 2025, and March 16. 2025 the last time I checked
all on it's own.

Yeah you're probably up to date. If there's a pending update, it should show a little exclamation point beside the firmware version. 2 hours away from mine so can't check what it's showing. Could've sworn you used to be able to view the firmware in the ford pass app but it's been a while since I looked.

To check the firmware I had to open the setup app, either through FordPass or directly start the app, then can navigate to the FW and SW information in "About"
