I think a couple things are wrong here and I may be wrong

1 if you have over 7500 in taxes you get 7500 back not reduce your taxable income by 7500 thats a HUGE differance.

2 If a dealer sells you a car not on the lot they are commuting a crime I doubt any reputable place would do that

All great points. I will just monitor shipping and hope it get here by the 31st. With an ETA of the 23rd to the 29th there is a chance I would think.

Your truck reached in production status on 12/21 two days later than anticipated, it's got its service code tear tag, but does not have a "BUILT" date yet, could happen this week if all it's waiting for is a minor add-on, but getting it onto a NC bound transport and dropping at the dealership Friday afternoon so the salesman can deliver the truck and apply for title with NC DMV before close of business would be unlikely.


All that said, your truck is under the 80K limit, I'll assume your income though high enough to benefit from the full credit, but is not so high as to be cut out completely as a "wealthy / high middle class" individual.

Best course is take delivery when your time comes and worry about the credit later, rumors are the the current 7500 value will be available through 3/31/2023 until final regulations are issued to cement the fact the the battery does not fully qualify as built, but because of the slowness of bureaucracy, the results play positively for these margin cases.

Hard limits though are still in place for MSRP value $80,000 and individual AGI value noted above, please remember the purchases happening on 1/1/2023 and later will appear on your TAX YEAR - 2023 return and related schedules (yet to be redesigned) in the winter/spring of 2024.
