Just recently upgraded to a 2022 with the 3.5 and max tow. Used to tow my camper the past 4 years with a 2011 with the 5.0. I’m excited to see how much better the new one tows!

While I’m still waiting on my break-in period to be over so I can tow, I was curious how the truck would react to the camper’s weight.

Not bad! A slight rake (0.5 inches higher in the back) without the WDH bars. A 2.25 inch drop in the rear and a 0.75 inch raise in the front. Hitch on the truck is rated for 635 without a WDH, and I believe my camper’s hitch with all our stuff is probably 825-850 (need to go weigh it).

Need to add the WDH bars on and make some hitch adjustments.

Who’s ready for camping season?!?

Looking forward to getting our new rig and towing with it. Hopefully by March/April so I can get some kms on it before camping season in May.

How long/heavy is your camper? I ordered an F150 knowing it could handle the weight, but I am concerned about the hitch weight. I was told a WDH should help with this (I have a Blue Ox WDH). I don't every put much in the bed, but sometimes we take our kayaks and with the rack, it probably adds 200-250 lbs. We are wanting to downsize anyway, just curious if that's going to have to be sooner rather than later. Thanks.
