We went to a Tesla Fast Charger down in Enfield, CT. I had to park sideways to get to the shot cord station. I connected the adapter and plugged in. I looked at my Ford App and saw a disconnect button. I thought that I had messed up. Nope. I was charging. Just by plugging in... Period. GREAT experience.

PLUG-N-CHARGE... yes, it works perfectly. It should be this way at ALL charging locations....

no screen to 'try' to view...

no screen to have to 'touch'

nothing but Plugging IN

simple

I got my adapter the other day and did a trial charging session at a Tesla supercharger. Initial plug in gave me an orange ring of lights. Unplugged (after hitting the unlock button) and plugged back in. Zip, started charging. Hit up to 187 kw, with max listed at the station of 250 kw.
Billing through my Blue Oval account. Worked like a charm.

My charger looks different than others I have seen posted. Perhaps a new batch? I labeled it so as to be sure I am using the correct adapter for the correct charger.

And a question for the community. I noticed all the Teslas parked charging with drivers inside and they were surfing the internet on their screens. Can I have the truck on when charging? All prior times I have used DCFC I have gone in to the restaurant or store while charging, so never tried having the truck on while charging.

yep- you have one that is made by Lectron rather than Tesla. Both versions work great- the Lectron is slightly bigger and heavier and has a different locking mechanism. I have both (bought the Lectron for a long road trip through Nevada and Idaho) and received my Ford adapter (made by Tesla) a few months later.

Blue Oval Charging is through your FordPass App. If you have Plug N Charge enabled it will immediately start charging and bill your credit card that is on the account. In my particular neck of the woods purchasing a one month Tesla membership pays for itself in one charge session, so I have to disconnect the plug and charge and initiate charge through Tesla app.

Me too. Typically in ‘accessory mode’ but there is no impact either way on fast charging.
Accessory mode? Where is that and BTW, how do I turn on "one pedal." I'd like to try it. TIA, Ralph

when you turn off the plug and charge, do you just disable it with the toggle in the app? Or do you have to change settings in the truck? Would seem easy enough to do so if/when you need to use the Tesla charger. Would be good to do on a road trip, and then restore function after.

It would be nice if the Blue Oval gave you the option to buy the Tesla membership. One can only dream.

Yes, the company A2Z is offering one.

For the half dozen tesla station i have used what works for me is to park straight on, nose in, using the stall to the right of the charger. Then pull forward, trying to touch the charger with the front left corner of the truck.

This still takes up two spots, well unless you can get the right-most spot. It however doesn't look awful for idk what it is but parking at an angle just makes it look like you are trying to be rude.

From the tesla app

I toggle the plug and charge off/on within the Ford app. Energy-> Access & Permissions -> Plug & Charge
