Any car company that sell out their own customers should be outed so we know who we can trust for our next purchase. Or at least know who we can not trust.

Those are pretty easy answers... no one and everyone respectively when it comes to collecting and selling data.

The Texas AGs office are a bunch of political driven idealogues that can KMA.

(I live in Texas)
Context from Wikipedia

Paxton was indicted in 2015 on state securities fraud charges relating to activities prior to taking office; he has pleaded not guilty. On March 26, 2024, prosecutors agreed to drop the securities fraud charges against him under the terms of a pretrial agreement. In October 2020, several high-level assistants in Paxton's office accused him of "bribery, abuse of office and other crimes."[12][13] Paxton was impeached with bipartisan approval in May 2023 by the Republican-controlled Texas House of Representatives by a vote of 121–23, leading to his suspension.[14] The articles of impeachment included allegations that Paxton gave preferential treatment to a political donor who bribed him, misapplied public resources and made false statements against whistleblowers, obstructed justice in the securities fraud trial against him, and made false statements regarding his financial interests.[18] In September 2023, the Texas Senate voted 16–14 to acquit Paxton of all articles of impeachment, ending his suspension from office.[19][20] Paxton is separately being investigated by federal prosecutors for the same legal issues on coinciding federal statutes.[21]

I figured this would be touchy to post with the political climate around Kenny P (and I was hoping to avoid veering off into politics). I was more sharing for Ford having a response in the article (so rarely do companies have a near immediate and informative response) that, to me, was positive that they aren't selling data to 3d parties and customers have some ability to limit what information is shared.
