Hopefully they can get the current compatibility issues with current AA, Android 11 and Sync4 resolved.

Not sure why the Sync system is not just a computer that can take multiple OS and therefore upgradeable similar to a PC can run windows or various flavors of linux. Of course that would allow users to upgrade vs buy a new 60k truck

I’m on team iPhone and it’s nice to know that Apple CarPlay will still be available.

Sync was built with a Microsoft or Blackberry backend by Ford. This is a fully Google OS built by Google for multiple car companies. Polestar was the first (and so far only) to launch with Android Automotive and it is fully Google branded. You sign into your car with your Google account, download apps from the Google play store, and use Google Maps: https://www.polestar.com/us/polestar-2/infotainment-software-apps/

And apps need to be built specifically for Android Automotive. There are only a few right now.
Everything before SYNC 3 was Microsoft based and everything SYNC 3 to now is Blackberry based.

In the F150, SYNC 3 started with the 2016 model year.
