Hi All,

This is such a great forum for sharing experiences with the Lightning.

I just received my Lightning 10 days ago and love it. I have had an issue with charging where the charging would get Paused for no reason at my work. I tried a different unit and had some success but eventually every unit would get it the dreaded Charging Paused. Other employees with non-Ford EVs do not see this and they happily charge away.

This morning I could not get the charging to go and tried a couple of the units but no joy. Every one after a few minutes went to Charging Paused. So based on some advice from this forum I tried deleting the location and then presto it is now happily charging away!

I realize this might not get anywhere but does anyone know where I can log a bug with FordPass app to try and get this corrected? Perhaps this is an issue that could be addressed to not force me to delete the location to get back to stable charging.

Thanks.

It's just a poorly thought-out design. There is no need for everything to be location and time based.

Tesla has one charge limit setting and it's easily accessible and changeable, and it stays the same wherever you go. I believe I recall it defaulted to 80% at superchargers if you had it set higher.

I can navigate ford's app fine now, but new users have to be completely perplexed by the setup.

More info needed.

What is your SOC? The truck will automatically stop charging at 90% at fast chargers.

Are these level 2 or DC fast chargers? If level 2, why do you have a location saved, to not exceed 90%?

Sorry but what is SOC?

It is level 2, about 5 kW rate. When I started charging I thought I needed to save a location for all charging. I am also tracking $$ for charging and I know my cost per location so location helps with that analysis.

If your truck has had updates recently, sometimes the location data is corrupted by the updates, this doesn't always happen, but if it does, delete and recreate the location rules as the situation occurs.

After gathering some more data, it seems to only occur at high SOC such as 80%+. At lower SOC never happens. So I am wondering if the truck tries to slow the charger down at high SOC and the charger (being older) is not able to negotiate a slower rate and so the truck gives up and says "okay we are done." Given free charging at work, it is not a big deal as I only really need it when the truck is much lower (until I get my 80 amp charger installed at home...)
