Yikes, what was the initial problem with it?
Doesn't automatically open or close by any means. I wouldn't care, I'd do it by hand, but I want the issues cleared. What if I wanted to trade it in for a new one?

Ok, I really need your help folks.
The technicians have been working with Ford techs now, and they are finally, after 5 weeks, tracing the connections back to the Frunk controls.

Finally, some "progress."

Today my service liaison contacted me, and said they traced the connections back to the "Frunk Sounder.". . .
Then (get this), they asked me if the truck had ever been in an accident because the fender had once been removed... And they claim the sounder isn't there.

Now, we bought the truck used. But the record is pristine. Nothing.

So, rather than assuming that the prior owner had become fed-up with the "beep-beep" Frunk alarm, and just disconnected it, they assume it was an accident. Then they said the Frunk repair wouldn't be covered by the warranty.

I let them know it has never been in an accident. The title is clear of any accidents, but, of course, they have a picture of the "sounder" NOT bring there, and I have NO picture of it being there... So I guess they win. Both my wife and I clearly to remember hearing the irritating beeps from the Frunk. It worked fine, until an OTA, and it didn't.

If we're wrong, and somehow we are misremembering the beeps, I think the last owner just took the thing out. It makes sense that eliminating/unplugging the Frunk beeper units, and not placing an adapter there might screw up Frunk function after an OTA. Yes? Why have they not figured this out weeks ago?

Any ideas in how much this is gonna cost me to replace the sounder?

And, hell, would it be smarter to just buy one of the silencer units, the adapter, plug it in and see if it just fixes the issue?

Any ideas are good ones at this point. Just had shoulder reconstruction surgery, still cleaning-up after Helene up here in Asheville, and we received no loaner, so I need my truck back.

(Also, we have been planning to buy a MachE Rally this February, but there is just NO way I'd spend another cent with this dealership, or frankly, Ford after if they shaft me on this after keeping the thing sitting in the corner big their lot for weeks.)

The sounder unit is made by Denso. Not sure what the Ford part number is.

Also, if the frunk sounder is missing it should throw an error code. The Check engine light may not be lit.

Here is photo of a sounder unit after it is unplugged, and the code it would throw if not installed.

I removed my frunk beeper and haven't had any issues. It doesn't throw a dash light. The backup beeper does throw a code, you need to put a resister or megohm bypass kit in when you remove it.

I appreciate this advice from you guys. It kind of ruins my theory. Hell if I know what to do. Just manually open and close my frunk when I need to, and drive it till the wheels come off I guess.
**Edit: update**
They're tossing in a sounder to see if it works.

If removing the sounder caused the frunk to stop working it would have showed up on this forum by now. It's a very popular mod.

I would think so too. It's ridiculous that it takes five weeks to figure it out .. if it has been figured out.

UPDATE!
Got my truck back after six weeks, just before Xmas, and everything is working fine.

It would have taken only a few days if the tech had been allowed to replace the Frunk motors as he suggested.

Instead, as you've seen above, tracing wires, replacing the module, replacing the sounder... All that.
The Ford folks stayed in touch, as did our excellent service rep at Asheville Ford, Victoria. The whole thing was a journey.

Anyhow, if you get this Frunk Funk®, have them check the damned motors first.
Happy New Year!
