I need a good studless tire and these got good reviews. I wanted the Nokian R5 EV but my tire guy is saying those don't come in 23 xlt er size.

I wanted to, but kind of got screwed over by the tire place that said they had them in stock but then ooops it turns out we don't. After I had already ordered the wheels from somewhere else. Could have saved the mounting & balancing fee if I had bought the tires & wheels at one place.

Anyway yes they looked good to me too. It's true there aren't too many options in that diameter unless you go with LT tires. I ended up with the Hankook Winter i*pike (W429A) 265/70R18. They seemed pretty good for the couple of months I had them on. Nice and quiet and didn't notice any drop in efficiency (although that's really hard to tell since it's so weather dependent).

Yes, I put them on last winter. Only put 3500 miles on them and they worked well in Ice and snow conditions.

I agree with Mr. Magoo.

You've probably ordered something else by now, but I had Tire Rack deliver a set of the Nokian R5s for my Lightning Lariat here in Fairbanks. Absolutely love them. Outstanding grip on ice and MUCH quieter than the all-terrains it came with. I took a picture of the sidewall just to make sure they met the EV load factor.

If you want to be picky, the R5 doesn't have the same load index as the OEM tires (115 vs. 116).
Some tire people will not put on something that doesn't match, so the guy isn't wrong per se.
Personally I'm not overly concerned about 300lbs (77 or something per tire), but to each their own.

[Edit]
Wait a minute? Yours appear to say 116, when did you get them ? Mine are 115 (had to go out and double check) and I got them in Oct 2023.

Yeah, I went out and checked before I posted to make sure. I received them and had them mounted last week, so apparently mine are this year's model. My local Ford dealer's Quick Lane installed them. The downside was the $460 shipping cost to Alaska, but we don't have sales tax here and I did get them in 48 hours.
