Help! Missing Rear View Snap-In Plastic Piece

My Lightning Lariat ER recently had a clash of mirrors with a passing truck on a narrow country road, and lost the duel. All the electronics still work, thankfully, but the mirror cover is cracked, and I have purchased a replacement. HOWEVER, Ford does not by what I can find, sell other separate components for the mirrors, including the plastic snap in part, as pictured here, missing. If anyone has a replacement, would be glad to purchase. (Or if anyone knows how to purchase the missing piece alone?) Thanks--

Make a paper template, transfer it to plastic or metal and then use silicone to to attach it. Hold in place with something until the silicone sets. It will pass 10/10 test ... At 10 ft and 10 miles per hour no one will know. Funny thing, you'll probably stop noticing after a little while too.

Nice idea, but well beyond beyond my near special needs state of being when it comes to such things. (But maybe I could hire a half-witted AI robot and start a business... on paper...)

Is this piece typically removable without breaking something?

I believe it is because it sprung off when my mirror struck the other traveling the opposite direction, and the point of impact was on the mirror cover itself as opposed to this piece. (It popped out with the peripheral force of impact).

Also, there appears to be a snap-in receptical to secure this piece. I'm mystified as to why Ford does not sell a separate replacement piece for this.

Based on what I've seen here over the last couple days, there's a LOT of parts they dont sell. Let me see what I can come up with.
