HIS with AC coupled Solar

While not advertising the compatibility with existing solar installations, the HIS worked well with 7k of my existing solar.

Well today was the 5th time I simulated an outage with my AC coupled solar pumping out 6k of power.

When initiating the outage, my truck powered the home with .9kw and the battery level was at 89%. After a few minutes my Solar edge inverter began to operate and started powering the home without the use of the truck battery. The delta inverter started to charge the truck as well. Inside the truck the display showed 0 of 9.6kw showing no output from the truck battery. During the outage session the truck battery level increase from 89% to 92% showing the delta inverter actually charging the truck.

The only issues I have is the power surge of the motor on my well pump blinking the lights. I’ve added a power conditioner to my 4 ton AC that has made that power up smooth.

The FCSP still shows outages when there aren’t any and faulted after this session.I wanted to share a 1 minute video but the file was too large.

That's encouraging results. Next test would be to AC couple when the truck battery is fully charged (100% SOC).

Wow...I didn't think the HIS was supposed to flow excess power from solar back to the truck. That's very good info!

Any advice on how you got backup power transfer to work reliably? My HIS system still wasn't working when I last checked in ~mid-September. My local ETW Energy/Sunrun contact remarked at one point that backup transfer seems to work more reliably when the HIS system is also connected to solar power but offered no explanation.

Actually it was a bear to get mine working. First the delta equipment needs to be commissioned. Charge station needs to be registered. Those are obvious. I must have reset the charge station 6 times. Just to get it paired properly.
if Sunrun installers can’t figure it out ?????
Mine was done by local solar contractor/engineer.
