Doing a search I got:
"the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning has a built-in Wi-Fi connection through the "FordPass Connect" feature, which allows you to create a mobile hotspot using a 4G LTE connection to connect multiple devices to the internet within the vehicle; essentially, it utilizes a cellular network to provide Wi-Fi acces".

About to trade in our Model X and decided to try the Ford Pass app on my wife's daily driver 2023 Escape. The app sometimes takes 30+ seconds to lock and unlock, and the remote start just didn't work at all. Is the experience better on the Lightning?

Honestly surprised how slow to respond it was. Hoping it's better on the Lightning.
Have had my 2022 platinum since 10/2022. The app has had some changes over the years. Some for the worse, not many for the better. App responsiveness is honestly the worst of any app on my phone. Remote start takes up to a minute and most times you have to try multiple times for it to take. truck
usually takes a few tries to sense you are near and unlock automatically. carplay audio doesnt work 20% of the time.

All that said, the truck itself is the best driving experience I've ever had. I traded in my 2020 Ranger Lariat to get more cabin space with a growing family and was taking less trips up playing around on mountain roads. Plus we had a surplus of energy from our solar panels so instead of paying $100/week in gas just myself, me and my lady pay ~$500/year to use her Mach E and my Lightning. App sucks though.

My experience is it can vary anywhere from instant to 5+ seconds for door lock/unlock. Never has it been 10 sec or longer and certainly never 30sec.

Move on from the Tesla SW experience now. If you compare it in any way you'll be disappointed. yes the Lightning is a great truck (I bash Ford a lot and the truck some), but if you are driven by tech and think you'll experience anything like Tesla, you're about to be really disappointed for a long time. That part of Ford and the truck absolutely suck comparatively.
I would 1000% agree. I love my Lightning and do my fair share of bashing, but Tesla software and updates are light years ahead of ford.

Being a tech person myself, I find it infuriating with Ford. Over 2.5 years into ownership, and I still cannot tell you the version of software or bluecruise I have on the truck.
