Yup, I kept my gas truck just in case. Needless to say it rarely ever gets driven except when a friend or family member needs to borrow a truck. I’m sure not gonna lend them my Lightning. 😂

Our other two vehicles are a 2019 Ford Flex, and a Heavily modded 2009 Mustang GT convertible. The 2022 Lariat ER gets chosen every time we go somewhere. The Flex feels like an antique and the Mustang is like something out of the stone age.

I certainly will consider only EVs moving forward. I may have to replace my significant others vehicle soon but she does not want another F150 nor a Mach E, so we may be looking at some of the newer models coming out from Scout, Cadillac, Jeep, etc. Hopefully the experience will be as good overall as it has been with the 2023 F150 Lightning Platinum.
Might as well get the new Model Y when it comes out later this year. We love our 2024.

I haven’t done any critical listening in my new Flash, but you are the first person I’ve read to praise the sound system.

I was going to say this. Having driving many EVs as rentals and an owner. I am most happy with Ford and Tesla. Rivian was great, but the interior was a bit tight in the shoulders for me as I am a larger human than most. Also, as a Tesla owner, you will never want for software updates. they have it down.

I’m sure that these “losses” will be used as loss carry forwards to allow Ford to avoid future taxation.
I'm sure you're right. People who understand the legitimate purpose of business (to earn a reasonable profit by producing goods and services that benefit society) will see this as an investment that positions the company to perform better in the future, and such an investment reduces current profits, so it reduces tax liability.

Unfortunately, many investors and those who write clickbait for them see business only as a mechanism to extract money from society and put it into their pockets. They would prefer that executives spend corporations' money on stock buybacks that increase the share price, while the company falls behind technologically and dies in a few years. They will have sold their shares and moved on by then.

My Lightning has given me a glimmer of hope for our future, but it would seem there's a lot of pessimism and bitterness to deal with... might just have to go for a drive as therapy.

Between my wife and me, we have had 5 i3’s. My daughter is driving the last one we bought. We loved them. Curious what the new i3 will be like in 2025/26.
I bought a new, late November 2014 manufacture date, BMW i3 REx Tera trim in March 2015. From a pure driving perspective, it's just plain fun to drive, but it does have its limitations. BMW s-canned all the innovative CFRP materials tech in lieu of conventional tech for their EVs. Boring ...

I just bought a 2022 Lightning Platinum, which for what I do now, is much more practical. I may just keep the i3 around as a fair-weather, drive as fast as you can on curvy mountain roads, toy.

We had three Rex, then moved to the BEV’s. The only issues I ever had were with the ICE motor. The 2018 was the S version. Fun car for sure.

My issue with Hybrids and REX as I describe it, it is the worst of both worlds. A battery under powered, pushing extra weight, still needs oil changes and maintenance, and a motor that is under powered that causes strain when in use. If you are not using the REX that often then you end up with a possible issue with gas getting old, engine not running enough causing other issues. I am a one or the other IMHO.

Agree, that’s why once the range because sufficient via upgrades, we moved to the BEV. The original i3 only had 80 miles of range. The last version had 150ish.
