I think thee may have been a Ford OTA fix since then as well, according to some reports.
If it was it would have been a secret one. The only OTA I have had this year was in March and CarPlay was definitely choppy after that.

Yes, some of the descriptions of the updates are obtuse and leave out details, and I think that was what someone said about it...or it was done by their Ford service folks.

Yesterday when I got in my truck, it made some new chime sounds I had never heard - no clue why, but then the next time I turned it on, the old ding-ding was back. I checked the menu but there was no indication of any update after the Frunk improvement one.

Go figure.

I have also seen strange things happen with my FCSP.
Updates get installed silently with no notification.
Yesterday or the day before, the FCSP light was white-not pulsing indicating a "station reset."
To charge my truck I had to flip the breaker off - wait 30 seconds - then back on.

Notifications and documentation is often lacking with software, always been that way as far back as I can remember (1970's).
