If the truck fully powers down it will lose the position of the frunk and you have to close it manually so it can establish known location again.

So @Firestop you can leave it open as long as you want but you will have to close it manually. It is not broken.

@Gimme_my_MME , I too thank you for that info! I had read that page in the manual while I was following up on my experience….I didn’t read it to mean that this would occur when the truck fully powers down…as mine had.

@Ford Motor Company may want to elaborate in the manual on what actions/conditions could cause a “system error” in the operation of the Frunk. It hadn’t occurred to me leaving it open overnight while on the charger would allow the truck to fully power down….and create an error condition…

Mine had a ¼" round-ish chip (no dent, more like it flaked off) on the passenger door handle. Lesson learned, do a full walk around with photos and video before driving off. Thankfully, I have a great dealer who fixed it without hesitation, because I picked it up, went to pick up friends 2 blocks away to go to lunch and the first thing they say is "nice truck, did you know you have a chip already?"....
