Has anyone heard anything else about the power running boards being a late availability option? I left them off my platinum build in hopes to not delay it.

I’m trying to decide whether to get rid of the spray in liner since it seems to be delaying other F150 builds and wonder if I should make any other changes.

Power running boards will be an option in the future but are not currently available.

I also read that this option could delay the build, but no way to really validate that claim. Also FWIW, the spray in bed Liner only carries a 3 year warranty, where as aftermarket like LineX is lifetime.

Knowing that made it alot easier to amend my build and remove the spray in bed Liner option.

Probably doesnt matter to you, but i believe the "lifetime" warranty is only for as long as you own the vehicle, it likely doesnt transfer to a new owner.

Has anyone in Canada gotten a build date yet? I asked my dealer yesterday and he just told me wait until next Friday as he has a meeting with the Ford rep on Thursday (Mar 3) and will try to get info then.
My dealer has almost no new vehicles on their lot right now! From their online inventory there is 5 new vehicles of which 1 is a truck and 3 are MME.

I talked to the dealer I ordered the truck through last Friday, he's thinking my truck might be built in May!

I also got a call from another dealer that I had a reservation with earlier this week. The call was unrelated to the Lightning, however I asked him about their Lightning orders since I had a reservation with them and never got a call. He mentioned they had an allocation of 6 which were already spoken for and went quick. I brought up that I placed an order with another dealer where my reservation was #2 and placed at the same time as the one with his dealership (10:50am EST when the system opened up). After a bit of persuasion he divulged that all their Lightning orders went to preferred customers, they ignored the order in which reservations were placed. I'm not really surprised as they're a bigger dealer, and can't really fault them. With that said, I'd probably be more upset if I wasn't able to order one at all.

How'd you guess that one? Lol

They just told me today that Canadian builds won't start until June now

Hi there. I can give an update on my Canadian progress. We have to remember that the Lighting is being released in both the US and Canada this model year. I'm not sure how many of the 200 000 reservations were from Canada, but I know mine was and I was able to order Jan 25.
My reservation deposit was confirmed on May 20 at 8:43pm. I chose my local dealer Riverside Ford in Brockville, On.
I reached out to my dealer a few times over the past few months and found out I was #4 there, with 16 total on the waiting list.
They are only allocated 2 units for the 2022 model year.
#1 was a friend of mine and repeat ford customer who registered on day 1. It turns out that #2 decided not to order and #3 could not be reached so I got the call! If Ford calls, definitely answer the phone!
I went in to the dealer and ordered a Ice Blue Silver Lariat with the extended range battery.
I logged into myford account and it showed my order, an order number and date.
No confirmation date on when it will be scheduled for production, but my dealer said they will update me.
Seems like production dates are being allocated in the US. I haven't heard of any Canadian dates.
Cheers.

It seems In-Store orders in Canada are treated differently. I'm still waiting for an update

It looks like my Canadian dealer has taken my reservation without my permission.

I placed my reservation close to the end of the reservation period intentionally because my preference is a 2023 truck.
I was contacted by a dealer rep first in January, and then again in early February to come in and place an order. In both instances I asked why I was getting pressured to place an order when there was no timeline for if and when I would receive a truck in 2022.
Through sites like this and other info, I was aware that a limited number of trucks would be produced in 2022 and that realistically there was no way to get a 2022 truck so why go through the disappointment of placing an order that would likely get cancelled or reworked into a 2023.
I am very informed of both the lightning and overall F150 options, and my preference was for a 2023 truck because some of the options I want are not currently configurable on the 2022 lightning and I am hoping will be added in to the 2023 version.
Something odd that occurred in both my conversations with the rep, was that when I told him I wanted a truck but preferred to wait till 2023 orders opened he suggested that he cancel my reservation. This struck me as odd and a bizarre sales tactic to use.
I told him I wanted to buy a truck, knew that there were 200k reservations, and just wanted to wait a bit before ordering.
Today, I opened my credit card statement and saw a refund for my reservation that I had not requested from the same day as the reps last call. I received no cancellation email from Ford.
Odd that in the reps urgent phone call @ 6pm from early Feb that the reason for his call was that was the last day they could place an order and I needed to get into the dealership that night to place an order. I reiterated what I had told him before, I wanted to wait for a 2023 and did not want to cancel my reservation.
Once I saw the refund, I logged into my ford account to see that it now says that an order was placed (not by me) the same day that the rep called me to pressure me into converting my reservation into an order.
I have started the process of reaching out to Ford Canada to restore my reservation and I guess likely transfer to a different dealership. Hopefully this can get done.

For some reason they bumped your order up to the top of their list. It would seem like they put an order in in hopes of having one on their lot to sale. Let us know how it goes with Ford Canada!
