List: F-150 Lightning dealers that do / don't apply ADM (price markup)

This is crazy. So your wave 2 invitation followed you to the new dealership and you could put your order in? So the second dealer gave your a signed order form with msrp? Can we get this before ordering?

Yes, my invite followed to the new dealership. I told them I am not ordering until I get buyers order. And when they did I submitted my order on the spot while there.

Did the allocation also follow you to the new dealership? As in, the prior dealer couldn’t sell your allocation to someone else? I’ve been told by a few ford dealership people they didn’t think the allocation would change dealers even if an invite changes dealers and that may mean a significant delay in delivery of your vehicle. Curious bc I’m trying to plan a backup scenario in the event my dealer surprises with ADM/add-ons when I go to submit order

I have no idea about dealer allocation. I am assuming my order will be processed like everyone else like in the order that were placed.

We can take Wayne Ford in NJ off the no ADM list - went to order today and they are now charging $2500, contrary to their e-mail before. I called them to ask about it and was told that things have changed since October and they don't know of any dealers not charging ADM.

I am moving to Mahwah Ford - called them just now and confirmed no ADM.

This is an easy fix, tweet Mike Levine, Jim Farley, the offending dealer. They have already said that if the dealer changes the price after the order has been placed they will find a dealer for you. Create and account just for that if you dont have one.

How would Ford stop an independent dealer? I get being pissed at the dealer and never buying a Ford again (I wouldn’t buy one again either and hopefully others reading this won’t), but no automaker can legally force an independently owned dealer from charging whatever they want. Hence the term MANUFACTUERER’S SUGGESTED Retail Price. Is it sleazy, yes. Controllable, not directly.

Ford hasn't built the truck yet, so Ford can do something about it, but has apparently chosen not to.

Ford can send the customer to another dealer cancel the order with the scumbag dealer. Refer the scumbag dealer to their agreement with Ford which probably has some clause about reputational damage to Ford for scummy actions by dealer. Ford can do what it said it would do and take away allocations from dealer stock orders at a rate of loss of 1 vehicle for every $5k of ADM.

Where there is a will there is a way.

I would use the following Ford info do help get a signed Purchase Agreement from your dealer.

Dealers are independent franchises. The final price you will pay for any vehicle is agreed between you and a dealer that is at, below, or above the MSRP. We recommend that all customers agree to a selling price with their dealer when an order is placed via a signed Purchase Agreement. For model years beyond 2022, Ford will release MSRP information as it becomes available.

Got it. You also started with how does Ford stop an independent dealer, so I was suggesting ways Ford could cut the nonsense out. And those are just off the cuff. If Farley wants pointers on how to dispense punishment proportional to the offense, he can jump in here and ask for advice. I am sure he'll get lots of it. Ford can definitely stop scumbagery, if it wants to without violating its dealership agreements.
