I just want good routing. Last time I tried it for a longer trip ABRP took me on a 9 hour route, but Ford Nav had a 16 hour route to the same destination! It is a route I have driven several times and 9 hours is the right answer.

I'm just saying we've always assumed that AA will be free. I no longer make that assumption. maybe, maybe not.
Then that just means I use a phone mount and ignore the in car system. Did that for years before Android Auto was a thing anyways.

What would be cheaper for Ford and give owners options is to allow the truck to "talk" with phone apps. Let Google, ABRP or Apple have data on battery state, energy use, etc. And allow them to precondition the battery for charging stops along the way.

The truck does have integration with Apple Maps to share battery state and energy use (if you have the OTA update that enables it). To my knowledge that's the only one so far. If Apple Maps gets the data, I would think it's up to the other apps to integrate it.

Somebody please help this not so tech guy out.
Don't all of these navigation things all work off GPS?
If so, when does the info go on GPS?
Maybe I am not asking it right.
My MIL bought a new house in a new addition. The streets are in. Only two houses in this addition are sold and closed. One is lived in, and MIL is now moving in hers. All other houses in different stages of construction. MIL bought two refrigerators, a washer and dryer from a national chain to be delivered and set up yesterday. They called and said they could not find on GPS. She told them the cross streets. They still didn't deliver. Said they would reschedule for Saturday.
I don't know what they were using and calling GPS.
I don't know how new info is put in each system.

My Garman also says MIL address doesn't exist.
I am wondering what would happen if I parked in her drive and put her address in my Garman. May have to try.

Info doesn't go in to GPS. GPS is a very "dumb" positional system that does one thing very accurately. All it really does is tell the device where you are on the planet based on signals from satellites. The apps like Google Maps, Apple Maps, Wayze, Open Street Maps, Organic Maps, etc, is what needs the updates of what streets exists for the delivery people to find their way. Brand new construction can take several months to be added, and I don't think there's much you can do to force the issue. Best bet is to have them start at a major crossroads and give them clear verbal steps to follow from there.

Thanks. Much of what I thought. My wife gave them the cross streets. 119 th west and 37th north. Had they been anywhere close it would have been easy to find. At that intersection there is two bean fields, a field of broom corn or a new housing addition.
Thanks again.

You can submit corrections to Google and after review they will update the name of a location or pin drop. For new roads you may need to send them pictures and they may need to send a car.

One thing I would really, really like is to display the map in the lower half of the screen when the truck bed (CHMSL?) is on.

I like to drive with the bed camera on when I fold the side mirrors in. The top of the screen shows the truck bed and side lanes / blind spots but the bottom half just shows a picture of a truck with no useful info. Actually, I would like Apple or Android maps to display there (I have 2 phones, the apple just to provide travel maps.)

Thanks. I don't see it worth the trouble. It will get on Google someday. I went over there today, with my Garmin, I didn't try to put in her address. Needed my truck to haul her concrete rabbit so it wouldn't get broke by movers. Yes, concrete rabbit.

Everyone is suggesting changes vis-a-vis the CHARGING functionality. Fine, but I don't use the Ford navigation because it lacks the basic NAVIGATION functionality that is contained in Waze. This includes traffic alerts, accidents, police speed traps, etc.

Before the Super Charger network was openend to Fords, when I planned a long trip I mapped out charger locations myself, including backup chargers. Now with the Super Charger network, I don't worry about charging any more. Charging is no longer an issue.

No matter how much Ford might improve the CHARGING functionality in their app, I'll only switch when Ford adds all of the NAVIGATION functionality of Waze.
The live traffic updates were working on my 2024 flash today. Including road closures. I haven’t had time to check anything else on it but the truck charged faster than my 2022 ever did on DC chargers.

The voice! For the love of god, it is the same computer voice as their original navigation with the 5” pixelated screen lol

Kind of a sideline to the thread, but do you really see much of an efficiency difference with this? I tried it once and I felt I was sacrificing a lot of visibility and safety for no measurable gain.

I only fold the mirro when I am on a road where someone is very unlikely to pass me or on the highway where I am staying in the lane, mostly with BlueCcruise. Blind spot warning lights still work with the mirrors folded. The cargo camera also shows much of the road on the sides of the truck, fish eye style.

Jury is still out on whether it really helps the gas mileage but it does cut down on the wind noise if I have windows cracked 1/4 way down. NOT using the A/C does make quite a bit of difference. Seems to me to be 0.1 m/kWh and maybe more. All of this is gut feeling, not rigorous testing under repeatable conditions.

Having the back window open and the passenger window down 1/4 gives me a nice circulating breeze which I prefer over A/C. A/C seems a bit weak on Auto and I have to crank it up manually.

BTW, My kid did some checking and the legality of folding the mirrors on the road is iffy at best since MD and NY seem to have a requirement for a working side mirror. I do open them up when changing lanes and in "regular" traffic.
