For those that purchase a demo/mannequin, how did you get your warranty start date changed to when you purchased, and not when the dealer took the possession of the vehicle.

You don't, but they give you a 42 month or 42,000 mile supplemental warranty starting when the truck was put into service. Mine was off by a week for some reason.🤷‍♂️

FordPass>Service>Warranty>Ford Protect® Extended Service Plans>Profit!🤣

Edit: a previous version had the incorrect extended warranty start date.

It always starts on the day the vehicle is sold/registered

So if you buy a 2 year old New old stock vehicle you still get the full warranty a demo is still considered a new car because it has never been titled

Mine isn’t showing up. Dealer said it might take a few weeks. Is that true?

It starts when they took possession and put it in service.
I picked mine up last week but the warranty started in June 2022.
My dealer wasn't willing to pay the $100 to cover the additional 6mo / 6k miles.
But I didn't push it b/c I'm planning on buying an extended warranty through Granger anyway, so the extra 6 mo/6k wouldn't have bought me much.

The thing that I'm worried about is that you can't extend the EV 8yr warranty components.

Unfortunately, this isn't how Ford is doing it. They start the warranty when the dealer puts it in service.
If you know a way around this, I would be VERY interested in it.

There isn't a way around it, except the 42/42,000 (which doesn't help on the EV components), and isn't free. Many of the demos are June dates, so you're looking at 10+ months in already. I'm in process of one now.

The other issue is that we loose out on the 8 months or so of subscriptions like Bluecruise.

Yep, I complained about this when I bought mine in Feb (June warranty date). I'm still happy I got it vs ordering a '23 due to the overall savings and no deletes. My dealer dropped the ball on the extended service plan and after complaining to them for 6 weeks the general sales manager finally added it and gave it to me free since they bungled it up. Although I think the start date for the extended also begins from the "warranty date". I'll have to go back and look later to confirm.

All part of the pro's and con's for purchasing a demo. If the price hadn't been jacked up so much I'd have ordered one vs buying a demo...but $16k difference? ya, I'll take a hit on the subscriptions for that savings.

The advantage is a much lower sticker, no deletes, and $7,500 tax credit.

Makes sense...I will take it! Still got a willy dealer. Under MSRP for a truck when ppl are still on a list to order...then those that have it overpaid with less options.
